Part A - Introduction

Use and interpretation

The Betfair Sportsbook Rules and Regulations ("Sportsbook Rules") are part of Betfair's terms and conditions.

The Sportsbook Rules apply in relation to the markets offered and bets placed on the Betfair Sportsbook and on Betfair's "Fixed Odds" and "˜Multiples" products (although they do not apply in relation to any bets placed on Exchange Multiples, Australian Multis, Tote Extra and Tote & Exotics markets). The Sportsbook Rules do not apply to markets offered or bets placed on the Betfair Exchange.

The Sportsbook Rules consist of the following:
- This Introduction section (Part A);
- The General Rules (set out in Part B below); and
- The Specific Sports Rules (set out in Part C below - these apply to certain sports and to financial markets).
The General Rules apply to all bets on the aforementioned products unless stated otherwise in the Specific Sports Rules. If there is any inconsistency between the Specific Sports Rules and the General Rules, the Specific Sports Rules shall prevail. The General Rules will apply in respect of any category of bets or markets not referred to in the Specific Sports Rules (for example, special bets or beach volleyball).

Please note that there are separate Rules and Regulations for each of our Exchange and Sportsbook products. The rules governing how markets are offered, managed and/or settled are not the same for every market on each product. In certain circumstances, a bet that is settled as a winner on one product may be settled as a loser on the other product (and vice versa). Additionally, different settlement rules may apply so that, for example, bets that are a winner on one product may be settled as a dead heat or be voided on the other product. Customers must ensure that they familiarise themselves with the relevant rules that apply to the bets that they place on Betfair's products.

Customer responsibility

Betfair customers should make themselves aware of all of the Sportsbook Rules affecting any market on which they wish to place a bet.

Customer betting disputes & NOG

Any Betfair customer who has any concerns or questions regarding the Sportsbook Rules or regarding the settlement of any Betfair market should contact Betfair HERE.

If a customer is not satisfied with how a bet or a market has been settled then the customer should provide details of their grievance to Betfair HERE.

When a customer has exhausted the internal Betfair betting dispute process without a satisfactory outcome, they may submit their betting dispute to National Office for Gambling (NOG - the Romanian gambling regulator) or to such other independent betting adjudication service that Betfair may recognise from time to time.

Part B - General Rules

In-Play betting
1. 1.1General
  - For everything other than horseracing and greyhound racing, if a market is not scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at the relevant time, then:
    - if the event has a scheduled 'off' time, all bets matched after that scheduled off time will be void; and
    - if the event does not have a scheduled 'off' time, Betfair will use its reasonable endeavours to ascertain the time of the actual 'off' and all bets after the time of the 'off' determined by Betfair will be void.
  - For horseracing and greyhound racing, if a market is not scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at the relevant time, then all bets matched after the official 'off' time will be void.
  - Betfair aims to use its reasonable endeavours to suspend in-play markets at the start of and at the end of the event. However, Betfair does not guarantee that such markets will be suspended at the relevant time.
  - Betfair reserves the right at its absolute discretion to part-suspend or fully suspend outcomes/selections in a Sportsbook or Fixed Odds market that has been turned in-play.
  - Betfair customers are responsible for managing their in-play bets at all times.
  - The availability of an in-play market on our Exchange product for a particular event does not necessarily mean that there will be an equivalent in-play market for the same event on our Sportsbook or Fixed Odds product.
  - For the purposes of in-play betting, customers should be aware that transmissions described as "live" by some broadcasters may actually be delayed or pre-recorded. The extent of any delay may vary depending on the set-up through which they are receiving pictures or data. Please also be aware that, for operational reasons, bet requests made in-play may take slightly longer to process.
  - If Betfair accepts a bet on a market for which the outcome has already been determined, then that bet shall be deemed void (and no winnings shall be payable in respect of it).
2. 1.2All markets other than soccer markets - not suspending at the time of the 'off'
  - In relation to markets which are scheduled to be turned in-play, Betfair aims to use its reasonable endeavours to turn such markets in-play at the time of the 'off'. However, Betfair does not guarantee that such markets will be suspended and turned in-play at the time of the 'off'.
  - If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at the time of the 'off' and the market is not turned in-play at any time during the event, all bets after the scheduled time of the 'off' will be void (in the case of horseracing and greyhound racing, bets will be void from the official rather than the scheduled 'off' time) UNLESS it can be established that the bet was placed before the official off time or the actual time of the off. If the event does not have a scheduled 'off' time, Betfair will use its reasonable endeavours to ascertain the time of the actual 'off' and all bets after the time of the 'off' determined by Betfair will be void.
  - If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at the time of the 'off', but the market is turned in-play at a later time during the event, all bets after the time of the 'off' will stand. HOWEVER the price may be adjusted by Betfair and the bets may be settled in accordance with the correct price at the time on which the relevant bet was placed (such price to be determined by Betfair, acting reasonably).
3. 1.3Soccer markets - not suspending at kick-off
  - In relation to soccer markets that are scheduled to be turned in-play, Betfair aims to use its reasonable endeavours to turn such markets in-play at kick-off and to suspend such markets on the occurrence of a Material Event (see definition of "Material Event" below). However, Betfair does not guarantee that markets will be suspended and turned in-play at kick-off.
  - If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at kick-off and the market is not turned in-play at any time during the match, all bets matched after the scheduled time of the kick-off will be void UNLESS it can be established that the bet was actually placed before the actual time of kick-off.
  - If a market is scheduled to be turned in-play but Betfair fails to suspend the market at kick-off, but the market is turned in-play at a later time during the match, all bets matched after the scheduled time of the kick-off will stand. HOWEVER the price may be adjusted by Betfair and the bets may be settled in accordance with the correct price at the time on which the relevant bet was placed (such price to be determined by Betfair, acting reasonably).
  - For the purpose of this rule, a "Material Event" shall mean a goal being scored, a penalty being awarded or a player being sent off.

Results and market settlement
1. 2.1General
  - Where the Specific Sports Rules do not specify how and on what basis a market will be settled, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
  - If no official result of a relevant governing body is available, the result will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably) using information from independent sources. In such cases, if any new information comes into the public domain within 48 hours of settlement, then Betfair shall (acting reasonably) determine either:
    1. whether the market should be reinstated or resettled in light of this new information; or
    2. whether or not to wait for further information before deciding whether to reinstate or resettle the market. Except where Betfair has announced that it is waiting for further information, any information that comes into the public domain more than 48 hours after a market has been settled shall not be considered by Betfair (regardless of whether or not such information may have led to a different result).
  - In the event of any uncertainty about any result or potential result, Betfair reserves the right to suspend settlement of any market for an unlimited period until the uncertainty can be resolved to the reasonable satisfaction of Betfair. Betfair reserves the right to void any market if the uncertainty regarding settlement cannot be resolved to Betfair's reasonable satisfaction.
2. 2.2Resettlements
  - Markets are generally settled shortly after the end of the event in question. Betfair may settle (or part-settle) some markets before the official result is declared (or may increase a customer's "˜available to bet" balance by the minimum potential winnings of that customer on a given market) purely as a customer service benefit. However, Betfair reserves the right to amend the settlement of the market if:
    1. the official result is different to the result on which Betfair initially settled the market (for example, a horseracing result being changed by the relevant governing body shortly after a race); or
    2. if the whole market is eventually voided (e.g. for an abandoned event).
  - Betfair reserves the right to reverse the settlement of a market if a market is settled in error (for example, a human or technical error).
  - If Betfair resettles a market, this may lead to amendments being made to a customer's balance to reflect changes in market settlement.
3. 2.3Non Runners
  - Unless stated otherwise, sports bets are accepted on a "non-runner, no bet" basis (unless stated otherwise). This means that stakes will be refunded on a player, team or other competitor that is withdrawn prior to the start of an event. If you have placed a bet on a sporting event run on a "non-runner, no bet" basis and a player, team or other competitor (on which you did not place your bet) is withdrawn, suspended or disqualified from that event, we may apply the equivalent to Tattersalls' Rule 4(c) to your winnings (based on the price of the player, team or other competitor that is withdrawn).
  - Where specified, certain markets will be offered on an "all-in compete or not" basis. This means that, if a player, team or other competitor is withdrawn from an event (whether he, she or it pulls out of the event, is suspended or disqualified from it or otherwise) before he, she or it has taken part in the event, then any bet placed on that player, team or competitor (as applicable) will be deemed a losing bet.
  - If an event is specified as "fixed draw" and a team, player or other competitor is withdrawn, suspended or disqualified from that event, we reserve the right to settle any bets on the subsequent prices once the market has been revised without the withdrawn team/player.
  - If a player, team or other competitor has taken any part in a sporting event once it has officially started and then fails to complete that event for any reason, any bet placed on that player, team or other competitor will be deemed live (i.e. bets on that player, team or other competitor will not be voided).
4. 2.4Selections Not Offered
  - Betfair endeavours to keep its markets updated at all times (such that potential winning selections for each market are always offered). However, should the team/individual/participant which ultimately wins be unavailable for any reason, bets on other selections in the applicable market will stand (and will be settled in accordance with these, and any other applicable, settlement rules).

Abandonments, Cancellations, Postponements
- Some markets have different rules and these are listed in the Specific Sports Rules. However, where a market has no rules in the Specific Sports Rules in relation to an abandonment, cancellation and/or postponement the following shall apply.
- In relation to any match, fixture, game, individual event, race or similar: If the event is not completed within three days after the scheduled completion date, then all bets on markets for this event will be void, except for bets on any markets that have been unconditionally determined.
- In relation to any tournament, competition or similar: If the event is not completed within 24 hours following the scheduled completion date of the event, then any markets relating to the event will be settled in accordance with the official ruling of the relevant governing body, providing such a decision is given within 90 days after the scheduled completion date. If no official ruling is announced in this 90 day period, then bets on any market relating to this event will be void, except for bets on any markets which have been unconditionally determined. If a market is to be voided but has been part-settled as a courtesy to Betfair customers, then such part-settled bets will be reversed and all bets on the market will be void.
- If there is no further sporting action in any market that does not contain the selection ˜"draw" or ˜"tie", all bets placed after this conclusion of action will be voided.
- Betfair will decide (acting reasonably) whether a market relates to a match (or similar) or a tournament (or similar). However, by way of example, the following shall apply:
  1. Europa League outright = tournament;
  2. Champions League Group outright = tournament;
  3. Top Premiership goalscorer = tournament;
  4. 72-hole Golf Match bet = match;
  5. Ryder Cup outright = tournament;
  6. Golf tournament outright = tournament;
  7. Tennis Tournament outright = tournament;
  8. 5-day Cricket Test Match = match;
  9. Ashes Series outright winner = tournament;
  10. Motor Race (e.g. Grand Prix) = match.

Change of venue
- Some markets have different rules and these are listed in the Specific Sports Rules. However, if change of venue is not dealt with in the Specific Sports Rules then the following shall apply:
- For any team sport: if the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will be void only if the new venue is a home ground of the original away team (or in the case of international matches, only if the venue changes to a venue in a different country).
- For all categories or markets other than team sports: if the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will stand.
- If there is a change in the type of scheduled surface (e.g. a hockey match switching from grass to astro-turf) after a bet is placed, all bets will stand.

Periods of time
- Some markets have different rules and these are listed in the Specific Sports Rules. However, if not dealt with in the Specific Sports Rules then the following shall apply.
- If the scheduled duration of an event is changed after a bet is placed but before the start of the event, then all bets will be void.
- Some markets refer to the length of time until an occurrence in the event (e.g. time of first goal). If an event happens in stoppage or injury time after any regular time period then it will be deemed to have occurred at the end of the regular time period. For example, if a goal is scored in first half stoppage-time in a soccer match it will be deemed to have occurred on 45 minutes.
- All bets apply to the relevant full "regular time" period including stoppage time. Any extra-time and/or penalty shoot-out is not included.
- References within these Rules and Regulations to a particular number of "days" shall mean the end of the day local time after the expiry of the specified number of days. For example, if a rugby match is scheduled for the 1st of December, then the rule that allows the match to be completed within three days after the scheduled completion date (see Paragraph 3 above) would mean that the deadline for completion of that match would be 23.59:59 on the 4th of December.

"To qualify markets
- Some markets have different rules and these are listed in the Specific Sports Rules. However, if not dealt with in the Specific Sports Rules then the following shall apply.
- Any 'to qualify' market (e.g. "to reach the final" markets) will be determined by the competitor or team that progresses, whether or not they take part in the next round or event for which they have qualified. Markets will be settled after the qualifying stage and any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result will not count.

Dead heats
- Unless stated otherwise in the Specific Sports Rules the Dead Heat Rule applies to bets on a market where there are more winners than expected.
- Dead heat is a term that describes when two or more selections in an event tie. If a "dead-heat" between two selections is declared on any event, half the stake is applied to the selection at full odds and the other half is lost. If more than two "dead-heats" are declared, the stake is proportioned accordingly.

Errors
- Betfair makes every effort to ensure that it does not make any errors when accepting bets. However, if as a result of technical or system problems or human error, a bet is accepted that is at odds (which includes handicap provisions or similar) and/or is on terms that are either:
  1. materially different from those available in the general betting market at the time the bet was made; or
  2. clearly incorrect given the chance of the event occurring at the time the bet was made including, in either case, because the bet was placed after the start of an event, because the market was not displaying or reflecting in-play status, or because of any other reason, then all bets will stand HOWEVER Betfair will settle winning bets at the "correct price.
- In the event “each way” is offered in a market when the pricing of the market clearly indicates that it should not have been, Betfair reserves the right to settle this bet as “win only”. Should the selection be part of an Each Way multiple, the entire multiple will be settled “win only”.
- The "correct price" will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably).

Handicap markets
- Unless stated otherwise in any rules relating to specific sports, handicap markets are determined by adjusting the score of the selected team by the applicable handicap which is offered in respect of that team. For example, if Team A + 10 is selected, 10 points will, for settlement purposes, be added to the score of Team A. Where the draw is selected in a handicap market, the relevant bet will be determined by adjusting the home team's score by the applicable handicap (for example, if draw - 6 is offered, 6 points will, for settlement purposes, be deducted from the home team's final score and if, following such deduction, both teams' scores are the same, the bet will be deemed to have been successful).
- Where a blatant error is made in handicap set up i.e. handicap reads as - instead of + and vice versa, on any of our events, either in Live Betting or before the start, - we reserve the right to settle bets at the correct handicap at the time at which the bet was placed.
- Where only handicap betting is available, the bet will be settled as a handicap bet whether selected or not.

Maximum winnings

For all events listed below, the maximum payout limits apply on a per day basis. If you place a bet that exceeds the applicable limits for a particular event, the relevant maximum payouts will still apply.
The maximum payout limits refer to the total returns on your bets, excluding your original stake.
The maximum payout limits apply to any one customer or group of customers acting together, backing the same combination of selections, regardless of whether or not such bets are struck separately, at a range of different prices, on different days and through a number of different accounts. If Betfair believes that a number of bets have been placed in this way, the total payment of all those bets combined will be limited to one single maximum payout.
The maximum payouts shown below are shown in sterling. If bets are placed in another currency, the maximum payout will be converted using the applicable exchange rate on the day of settlement of the bets, save for Euros where the maximum payout will be the same as the amount stated in sterling. The maximum payout for ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ is £50,000 per day.
The following maximum payout limits will apply to the events shown (please note, if a multiple bet has been placed which involves events with different maximum payout limits, the lowest applicable maximum payout limit will apply to the whole of your multiple bet - for example, if you place a multiple bet on English Premier League football matches and on a golf tournament, your winnings will be capped at £100,000 and not £1,000,000).

Horse racing
- We pay double result on all horse racing selections running in Ireland and the UK which are covered in Full Service. Double result/first past the post bets are subject to the maximum payout limits set out in the table below (Note: applies only to meetings covered by Full Service).
- The below limits apply even where a customer has taken prices.
- The maximum payment to any one customer betting on the Tote via Dial-a-Bet in respect of any one day’s UK Jackpot or Placepot bets is £50,000 and £10,000 for Quadpots. Quadpots are also subject to a maximum payment of twice the total Tote pool, or twice the SP place accumulator returns, whichever is the lesser. Where we believe the Tote return has been affected by rigging we reserve the right to settle all Tote bets at the returned SP or its place equivalent.

Overall Maximum Daily Payout Limit: Subject to any lower limits that may apply in respect of any particular event (as set out above), the overall maximum daily payout limit to any customer for all winning bets placed on the Sportsbook, Fixed Odds and Multiples products combined is £1,000,000 (or the currency equivalent). If you place winning bets on those products that exceed this daily limit, your winnings will be reduced to £1,000,000 and the remainder of your winnings in excess of £1,000,000 will be forfeited by you.

Multiples
- Betfair currently offers two types of multiple bet: ‘Fixed Odds Multiples’ and ‘Same Game Multiples’. These Sportsbook Rules only apply to Betfair’s ‘Fixed Odds Multiples’ and ‘Same Game Multiples’.
- A multiple bet consists of a number of legs. A leg is defined as one or more chosen selection in any individual event market.
- Betfair reserves the right in its sole discretion not to accept certain multiple bets or to scale back stakes.
- All multiple bets placed are subject to the Sportsbook Rules that apply to each individual sport that relates to any leg of any multiple bet.
- If any selection in any leg is a non-runner or otherwise void under the Sportsbook Rules (e.g. an abandoned match) then all bets on that individual leg will be void and the Fixed Odds Multiple bet shall be adjusted accordingly. For example a treble including one void leg will become a double. If that voided legs mean that an individual bet within a multiple becomes a single bet, then this single bet will stand.
- Multiple bets combining different selections within the same event are not accepted when there are related contingencies (i.e. where the outcome of one event is likely to affect the odds on the outcome of another event) except where those selections are chosen as part of a Same Game Multiple. The rejection of related contingency bets may happen automatically at the bet placement stage. However, if such a bet is taken in error, Betfair may settle the individual bet combinations which include two or more of the related contingency selections, as single bets.
- Each-way and win-only markets cannot be combined as part of a multiple bet. Should Betfair accept a multiple bet of this type in error, all each-way bets which are included within the multiple will be classed as win-only bets for settlement purposes.

Rules for Tote Betting
- From time to time Betfair may offer the facility for customers to place Tote bets. In such circumstances Betfair will place these bets directly into the relevant pools and the rules as applied by the relevant Tote (for example, the UK Tote, Irish Tote or relevant US racetrack Tote) will apply.

Cash Out
- Cash Out is a feature which is offered on various singles and multiples Sportsbook bets. Cash Out allows you to amend your original bet and lock in a profit or a loss by settling your bet (or a portion of your bet) early, without having to wait for the event to finish.
- Your request to Cash Out is not guaranteed to be accepted and may be unsuccessful if, for example, the market suspends the odds move before your request has been processed, due to an unforeseen technical issue, or if the third-party provider who covers the sporting event has not been able to continue coverage as originally agreed. Betfair reserve the right to suspend or disable the Cash Out feature at any time. Betfair cannot guarantee the availability at all times of the Cash Out functionality, even where the functionality has been advertised in connection with a particular event. Please be aware and accept, therefore, that unless Cash Out is available and successfully exercised in connection with a particular Bet, your initial Bet will, unless otherwise provided in accordance with the Terms of Use, stand as originally placed.
- If your Cash Out request is successful, a "success" message will be shown and your bet (or the relevant portion of your bet) will be settled immediately and any winnings returned to your account equal to the amount shown on the Cash Out button. Note that this includes the original stake (or portion of your stake) and the total amount returned to your account will be the amount shown on the Cash Out button. The For a full Cash Out, the bet is settled and any subsequent events will have no impact on the amount returned to your account. For a partial Cash Out, part of your bet is settled and any subsequent events will only impact on the portion of your bet which you have not Cashed Out.
- Live Betting Rules apply on all live bets where Cash Out is available.
- Using Cash Out may mean you will opt out of and no longer be eligible for a particular promotion (e.g. Acca Insurance). See the terms and conditions of the promotion for further details.
- On bets when a free bet has been used, cash out will be unavailable until the value of your cash out is higher than the value of your free bet.
- Betfair reserves the right to reverse the settlement of a Cash Out if the bet or a market is settled in error (for example, a human or technical error). If Betfair resettles a bet, this may lead to amendments being made to a customer's balance to reflect changes in bet settlement.
- For horse racing, Betfair reserves the right to cancel a cash-out settlement when the selection that has been cashed out on becomes a non-runner subsequent to the bet being cashed out. In this occurrence as the bet placed was on a non-runner the bet will be void and the bet stake will be refunded.
Edge
Enhanced Price Bets
- Any bets for which we offer enhanced prices will be settled on the basis of normal time and injury time (i.e. excluding any extra time, penalties or similar) unless otherwise specified in the relevant bet or bet rules
- Unless otherwise stated, bets for which enhanced prices are offered will be governed by Betfair's usual settlement rules.
- We reserve the right to void any bet with an enhanced price if: (i) the enhanced price was intended to apply to pre-match bets only and (ii) we erroneously accepted the bet, at its enhanced price, after the relevant event started.
- In the event of a clear and obvious wording or pricing error for an enhanced bet, we will (in accordance with our usual settlement rules) aim to settle the bet at the price at which we intended to offer, and/or pursuant to the wording which was clearly intended to relate to, the relevant bet
- For Oddsboosts that include multiple players, in the event that one or more player(s) listed does not take part, we reserve the right to settle the bet based on the odds of the remaining players.
- For Oddsboosts that include multiple Matches, in the event that one or more Match(es) doesn’t take place, we reserve the right to settle the bet based on the odds of the remaining Matches.
Competitors with the same name
- Where there is more than one competitor with the same surname and the selection has not been identified by either first name, team (where applicable), or qualifying price the competitor with the lowest advertised price will be taken as the selection. 
- In the event of one or more competitors being quoted at the lowest advertised price then the stake will be divided between them
Late Bets
- Bets are accepted up to the off-time of the event or a pre-determined time whichever the is earlier. Should there be a dispute over the off-time of an event/market where an official starting time is not given by that sports governing body, then the time that Betfair determines the event to have started will govern settlement of all bets.
- Any bet inadvertently accepted after the off-time, pre-determined time or at any stage where the customer could have any indication of the outcome of the event will be settled at the correct price at the time the bet was placed.
- The correct price will be determined by Betfair’s trading department.
- Bets placed on events where the final event result has already been determined will be voided.
Cup/TrophyCompetitions
- Unless we advertise other terms, we will settle outright betting on the player or team that lifts the trophy.
Outright, Tournament and Match Betting
- When odds for outright, tournament, match and handicap betting are advertised, and the customer hasn't indicated clearly their intended market, the bet will be settled on the match betting on the next match to happen involving that team. 
- Where the price taken indicates the customer's intended market, this will govern the settlement. 
Rigging/Fixing Suspicions
- Where there is evidence of price, race, match or event rigging, we reserve the right to withhold payment, pending the outcome of any subsequent investigation and ultimately to declare bets on that event as void. 
- Where evidence of rigging exists or where there is evidence of a series of bets each containing the same selection(s), having been placed by or for the same individual or by a syndicate of individuals, we reserve the right to require claims for payment to be submitted in writing to our customer service department. 
- In order to prevent fraud, cheating and money laundering we may disclose your information and betting and gaming history to third parties including, but not limited to, any relevant regulator, gaming and sporting bodies, financial institutions and law enforcement agencies or any other body that deals with the investigation of alleged offences.
- Customers should also familiarise themselves with the “Suspicious Betting” provisions of the Betfair Terms and Conditions in this respect.
Score Displays
- Although the current score, time elapsed, video and other data provided on this site is sourced from "live" feeds provided by third parties, you should be aware that this data may be subject to a time delay and/or be inaccurate.  If you rely on this data to place bets, you do so entirely at your own risk. The Betfair rules for bet settlement still apply and as such we accept no liability for any discrepancies between information displayed here and how a bet is settled.
Injuries
- In the event of any injury news being announced in a market where the number of games or price of runners remaining can significantly affect the prices, e.g. top goalscorer/top runscorer, we reserve the right to either void bets, apply a Rule 4 deduction or revert bets to the next price offered after the market has been revised due to that injury news. 
- This could apply to bets placed between the release of the injury news and the revision of the market in question.
Miscellaneous
- Betfair reserves the right in its sole discretion not to accept certain Sportsbook bets, or to scale back the stakes.
- All references to time periods in the Sportsbook Rules relate to the time zone in which the event takes place. For example, a reference to the start time of a football match, relates to the local kick-off time.
- All information supplied by Betfair is done so in good faith. However, Betfair cannot accept liability for any errors or omissions in respect of any information, such as the posting of prices, runners, times, scores, results or general statistics.
- Any results or scores of which you may be advised by a Betfair employee or agent (for example during betting in-play) are provided for guidance purposes only.
- Betfair reserves the right at any time in its sole and absolute discretion to suspend an Exchange market without suspending any corresponding or related Sportsbook or Fixed Odds market, or to suspend or stop offering a Sportsbook or Fixed Odds market without suspending any corresponding or related Exchange market.
- Please be aware that if you place related or corresponding bets on a combination of Betfair's Exchange, Sportsbook, Fixed Odds and/or Multiples products (and/ or the betting products of other third parties), it is possible for bets on one product to be voided in accordance with Betfair's terms and conditions, while bets on another product may stand. You should note that Betfair will have no liability to you in the event that one or more of your bets on Betfair's products are amended or voided in accordance with Betfair's terms and conditions, even if your other related bets stand (and even if you have specifically relied on bets you have placed on one product in order to place related bets on another product).
- Betfair may, in its sole and absolute discretion, decide to suspend betting on a market at any time (even if such suspension is earlier than anticipated by the Sportsbook Rules). In the interests of maintaining integrity and fairness in the markets, Betfair may also void certain bets in a market or void a whole market in its entirety.
- Betfair reserves the right to amend the Sportsbook Rules at any time. Any such revision will be binding and effective immediately on the posting out to customers of such rule changes and any bets accepted after the rule changes have been posted shall be governed by the new Sportsbook Rules.
- The Sportsbook Rules have been prepared in various languages other than English for translation purposes. In the event of any differences between the English version and the and (if applicable) the translated version in the local language of your country of residence, the version most beneficial to the customer shall prevail.
- Betfair Sportsbook promotions are available at the discretion of Betfair and Betfair reserves the right to restrict the availability of a promotion to any person at its absolute discretion.

Part C - Specific Sports Rules

American Football

1.1General Rules
- At least ten minutes of official time must elapse in the fourth quarter for bets to stand.
- Overtime counts for all markets unless stated otherwise
- Abandoned or postponed games are void unless played within the same scheduling week. In the event of a change of venue, all bets will be void.
- All settlements are based on results and statistics provided by the relevant league's governing body: www.nfl.com, www.cfl.ca, www.ncaa.org.
- We reserve the right to suspend any or all betting on a game at any time without notice.
- Handicap betting: In Handicap & Total betting, where the index (value) of the market is a whole number, bets are void and will be refunded where the score lands on that number.
- All Outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
- For settlement purposes, the team listed second in the event name is always considered the Home Team. Example: Team A v Team B or Team A @ Team B - Team B is the Home Team.
- Where you have placed a bet on a number of players to achieve a given outcome in a particular event, your bet will be voided if any of the selected players do not take part in such event. For example, if you have placed a bet on players A, B and C to each score a touchdown in a specified match, your bet will be voided (in its entirety) if players A and B score a touchdown but player C does not take part in the match (for the avoidance of doubt, your bet will be settled as a losing bet if players A and B score a touchdown but player C takes part and does not score a touchdown).
- Regular Season Wins: Team must play all 17 regular season games for bets to stand.

1.3#OddsOnThat American Football Rules
- The rules in this sub-section apply specifically to the settlement on any American Football bets which are placed via #oddsonthat (“OOT”). All other settlement rules which are indicated in this “American Football” section (or elsewhere on this website) will also apply to the settlement of OOT bets unless they contradict, or conflict with, those included in this sub-section (in which case, the rules in this sub-section shall take precedence).
- For any obvious wording errors, we reserve the right to cancel any OOT bets placed on the relevant selection (and, in such circumstances, we will offer the OOT bet to be re-placed with the correct wording).
- If any player who forms part of an OOT bet does not take any part in the relevant match (or does not fulfil the conditions of the bet), then the whole OOT bet shall be voided. This will apply in all cases regardless if any/all of the remaining components win or lose. For clarification a player is deemed to not take part only if listed as “inactive” per NFL.com.

2Athletics
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
- If a track or field event is abandoned, cancelled or postponed and not completed within 7 days of the scheduled completion date, all bets will be void except for those on markets which have been unconditionally determined.
- Overall winner markets relate to the winner of the overall event and not for individual qualifiers or heats. As 'Any Other Athlete' is NOT quoted, non-featured athletes will be added to this market on request. Once 'Any Other Athlete' is listed, no further athletes will be added.

3 Australian Rules Football
- Payouts will be based on the official declared result. Regular season Home and Away matches are settled at 'Normal Time' with no extra time played. In the event of a 'draw' where no draw option is offered Betfair will apply the 'dead heat rule' and all bets will be paid at half face value of the ticket. In the instance of the AFL Grand Final, where no overtime is played, all Head to Head betting is settled in accordance with the 'dead heat rule'. NAB Cup, AFL Finals and any other Competition which includes extra time will be paid on the completion of extra time.
- Where the draw option is offered, the bet is decided on the result at the end of normal time (i.e. extra time - an extension of normal time is not included). For Margin betting, the Draw option is always offered, although in other betting options where the draw option is not offered.
- Where a match is abandoned or postponed, and played within 7 days of the original scheduled date, all bets stand. Once the 7 days have expired, all single bets are void and wagers will be refunded while affected MultiBets will be recalculated excluding that event or leg.
- If the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will stand provided the match is not postponed by more than 7 days from the original scheduled date.
- For match winners and goal kicking options, statistics used by the AFL website (www.afl.com.au) will be the statistics used for payout purposes. For 1st Goal Scorer (Game/1st Quarter only), if the selected player is not in the starting 22 all wages on that selection will be refunded. All wages for 1st Goal Scorer on any other quarter stand, regardless of the nominated player being selected as the Substitute for their respective team. Bets refunded if no goal scored within the nominated qrt. For bets on first goalscorer of the match, goal doesn't need to be scored in 1st quarter.
- Any Team which has Points Deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be Deemed A Starter for resulting purposes. Any loss of Premierships after the completion of the Grand Final will be deemed null and void and all bets will stand.'
- Top4/Top8: For Betting purposes Any Team which has Points Deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be Deemed A Starter for resulting purpose i.e. All In Any decision made by the AFL regarding penalties is final.
- Wooden Spoon is paid on the team which has the least wins for the season including byes. In the event of more than one team having the same number of wins the position will be determined by For and Against. Points deducted because of breaches of rules and regulations are excluded for resulting purposes. All In. Win Only
- Miss 4/Miss 8: For betting purposes Any Team which has Points Deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be 'Deemed A Starter'. If at the time a breach is announced, the loss of points means only one eventually can occur (ie Miss the 8 must occur) then all bets on that competitor are void and monies refunded. All decisions made by the AFL regarding penalties are final.
- For the Premier State market, payouts will be determined by the home state of the team that wins the Grand Final.
- For Brownlow and Coleman Medal markets, Win and Place will be paid on first, second and third. In the event of a tie between two or more players, then Dead Heat Rule applies. Coleman Medal is Awarded to the player who kicks the most goals in the 2021 AFL regular season.
- We reserve the right to suspend any or all betting on a game at any time without notice.
- Time of first goal - Pay on the time of First goal. As per official AFL website. Time of goal is resulted on the running clock, time on is included.
- Most Disposals (Group) Most SuperCoach Points (Group) and Most Goals - Bets refunded if player not in the starting 22. If player named as sub then bets still stand.
- Any player Head to Heads i.e. Most Disposal/Most Goals/Most SuperCoach Points - All bets void if one or both of the players are not in the starting 22 or named as a sub.
- SuperCoach markets - Results as per "Herald Sun SuperCoach Points".
- Club Best and Fairests - Payout on the Official Club Best and Fairest. Betting will close at conclusion of round 14.
- Total Points for round - Over or Under Total Points for all games: If any match is abandoned or postponed by 7 days, then a reduction may be applied.
- Home/Away - Pick the Total and Winning Margin of Home Teams v Away Teams: If any match is abandoned or postponed by 7 days, then a reduction may be applied.

4 Badminton
4.1General Rules
- A match will be deemed to have begun once the first serve has been struck.
- In the event of a match not taking place, or taking place at a different venue, bets on that match will be voided.
- In the event of a match taking place at least 24 hours after its scheduled start time, all bets on that match will be voided.
- In the event of any of the named players in a match changing before the match starts then all bets on that match will be voided.
- In the event of a match starting but not being completed then all markets will be void.
- If a badminton match doesn't take place or if a player is given a walkover, bets on this match are deemed void
- Non-runners: stakes will be refunded in respect of players or teams who are withdrawn prior to the start of an event. Separately, we reserve the right to make the equivalent of a Tattersalls Rule 4(c) deduction to any successful bets which are placed on the event's remaining participants.

- All bets settled on 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated. If 90 minutes are not completed all bets will be deemed void unless an official result is declared.
- The settlement of the markets for each match is based on the results provided by the organizing federation.
- In the event of a match not taking place, bets of this match are deemed void.
- Should a match be abandoned all markets will be voided unless the outcome has been unequivocally decided.

6 Baseball
6.1General Rules
- These rules apply to Major League Baseball, NCAA and World baseball.
- All settlements are based on the results and statistics provided by the relevant league's governing body (e.g. Major League Baseball).
- Should a game not start on the day of the officially listed start time, as stated by the relevant governing body, due to a rain delay or other similar events, all bets will be void. The day of the event will be considered the day according to the time zone in which the game was scheduled to be played.
- 7 Innings Games: For MLB games scheduled to be only 7 innings at its commencement, normal baseball rules apply with all markets settled as per MLB.com. Where a 7 innings game is shortened after the first pitch (i.e. called due to rain) the following settlement rules will apply:
- Applies to MLB and NCAA only: In the event of a shortened game, results are official after (and, unless otherwise stated, bets shall be settled subject to the completion of) 5 innings of play, or 4.5 innings should the home team be leading at the commencement of the bottom of the 5th innings (the “4.5 Innings Rule”). Should a game be called, if the result is official in accordance with this rule, the winner will be determined by the score after the last full inning completed (unless the home team score to tie, or take the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which circumstances the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is suspended). For World Baseball only: In the event of a shortened game, all undecided markets will be void if the match does not resume on the same day regardless of the point of abandonment.
- Notwithstanding the above, in certain circumstances where we so specify, results will only be official after (and bets shall be settled subject to the completion of) a minimum of 9 innings play, or 8.5 innings should the home team be leading at the commencement of the bottom of the 9th innings (the 8.5 Innings Rule).
- For the purposes of live betting, the 8.5 Innings Rule shall automatically apply unless stated otherwise - e.g. in the section below entitled Overview of Specific Baseball Markets (which shall take precedence over this section). However, should a game be shortened due to bad weather or similar, live betting markets which have been unequivocally determined will stand (irrespective of the 8.5 Innings Rule or whether or not an official league result has been confirmed).
- Extra innings, where applicable, count for settlement purposes.
- If a game is suspended and continues to a conclusion the following day (local time), then all bets will stand. In the case of a suspended MLB Playoff games, all bets will stand until the game is completed.
- For settlement purposes, the team listed second in the event name is considered to be the home team (even if the game takes place at a neutral venue). Example: "Team A v Team B" or "Team A At Team B", Team B is the home team.
- All outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
- Should a mercy rule be applied, for settlement purposes, markets (for both pre-match and live betting) will be settled according to the result as determined by the application of the mercy rule.
- The scheduled starting pitchers (“Listed Pitchers”) are not relevant to any Baseball markets and bets on such markets will stand regardless of whether any Listed Pitchers do in fact start.
- Should a game end in a tie and no extra innings are played, Money Line betting will be void with all other markets settled as per the result.
- For double-headers in the Australian Baseball League (ABL), each of the first games are 7 inning games and are priced and settled accordingly. If the first game of a double header goes to extra innings, causing the second game to be shortened to less than the scheduled 9 innings as a result, all bets on the run line and total market for the second game will be void. All head to head bets on the second game will still stand.
6.2Overview of Specific Baseball Markets
- Money Line: Money Line markets will be settled as per the 4.5 Innings Rule.
- Run Line Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule.
- Total Runs Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule with the exception of when a result has already been unequivocally determined.
- Double Markets (Money Line, Run Line / Total): Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule
- Double Result: Settled on the basis of the score at the end of the 5th inning plus the final score as per the 8.5 Innings Rule.
- Tri-Bet Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule.
- Odd/Even Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule. In the event a result of zero is arrived at, that shall be considered an even number for settlement purposes.
- Winning Margin Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule.
- Team to Score First Markets: Settled on the first run of the game (irrespective of whether or not a full game, or a certain number of innings, have been completed). Where a double is offered, the 8.5 Innings Rule applies.
- Team to Score Last Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule.
- Highest Scoring Half of Match: Inclusive of extra innings, settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule. For the purposes of this rule, the first "half" of a match shall be deemed to be the first 5 innings and the second "half" shall be deemed to be all other innings which take place during the match (including additional innings). For example, if 11 innings are played, the first "half" of the match shall be deemed to be the first 5 innings and the second "half" of the match shall be deemed to be the last 6 innings.
- Highest Scoring Inning: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule. Dead heat rules apply in the event of a tie. Should the highest scoring inning occur in extra innings, innings 1-9 will be considered losers.
- Inning of First / Last Score: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule (unless, in the case of the first score, the result has already been unequivocally determined).
- Inning / Half Inning Markets: The relevant inning or half inning of the game must be fully completed for bets to stand (unless, in the case of a total runs market, the result has already been unequivocally determined).
- 3 / 5 / 7 Inning Markets: The specified number of innings must be completed for bets to stand (unless the home team holds the lead and the bottom of the inning would not change the result for team specific markets).
- 1st Half Markets: Settled following the completion of 5 Innings. The 4.5 Innings Rule applies for shortened games where the results of markets have already been fully determined
- Lead After / Race To Markets: Settled based on the score at the end of the specified period or once the required number of runs have been scored (as applicable).
- Hits Markets: Settled as per the 8.5 Innings Rule. In the case of specific Inning / half Inning markets, the stated period must have been completed for bets to stand unless the result has already been unequivocally determined.
- Regular Season Specials: A team must play at least 159 games for regular season wins bets to stand. Bets will be void unless already unequivocally determined. Where a specified player is listed under a market pertaining to a certain league/team, he will be deemed a player in that league/team for the purpose of the result regardless of any inter-league/team trade which may occur.
- To Hit a Home Run & Home Run / Match Winner Double: Listed Pitchers must start and player must face at least 1 at bat for bet to stand (failing which, in each case, bets on this market will be voided).
- Player Total Strikeouts: Listed Pitcher must start for bet to stand. If opposing Listed Pitcher does not start, then bets will still stand.
- Player Performance Doubles: Both Listed Pitchers must start for bets to stand.
- Series Betting: if a series for which we did not offer a price for a draw ends in a draw then the bets on the series result will be void.
- Series Betting: when a full number of scheduled matches are not played then we reserve the right to void any speciality markets which relate to the series as a whole.

7 Basketball

8 Big Brother, Christmas Number One and Other Novelty markets

Big Brother
- Should a contestant be evicted from the house, removed by Big Brother or leave of their own accord, they will be settled as a loser. Should that same contestant be re-admitted at a later date, they will be treated as a new contestant and previous bets will not stand.
- Eviction markets apply only to official Channel Four/Five evictions. Any contestant leaving the house of their own accord or removed by Big Brother will not be treated as the next evictee for betting purposes. Betfair reserves the right to void all bets placed on an eviction market should the initial line up for eviction be changed. Others may be added to the market at any time.
- Betfair is not responsible for the way in which Channel Four/Five conduct the show. Any late changes to methods of eviction, addition or subtraction of housemates or any other factors affecting the market are beyond our control.
- Any disputes concerning any market will be referred to Channel Four/Five for clarification; their decision will be treated as final.
- Betfair reserves the right to suspend any market at any time.
- For the purposes of our markets, we will define an eviction as the permanent expulsion from the house of contestant or contestants. Therefore, fake evictions will not be considered as winners. Therefore any bets placed on a stipulated eviction (e.g. first) will run until a person is seen to egress the house with no immediate prospect of return.
- Betfair reserves the right to apply a dead heat reduction on any event where more winners are declared than were originally specified.
- In the event of the series been cancelled before an official winner is declared, bets will be settled as a dead heat between the contestants that have not been eliminated. Outright bets on contestants already eliminated will be treated as losing selections.
Christmas Number One
- Bets placed on the next Christmas number one will be settled on the basis of the UK Chart declared by the Official Charts Company.
- For the purpose of this market, featuring artists do not count. Whether or not a song is considered to be a duet or, alternatively, a song which includes a "featuring artist" will be determined by officialcharts.com. In particular, it will be determinative if officialcharts.com includes the word "featuring" or the abbreviation "FT" (or similar) before an artist's name. Where a duet has a realistic prospect of achieving the Christmas number 1 spot, we will endeavour to offer a selection in respect of that duet (for example, Calvin Harris and Sam Smith).
- Where multiple versions of a particular artist's song include different secondary artists (and those multiple versions are considered by the Official Charts Company to represent a single entry), it is only the primary artist that will be deemed, for settlement purposes, to be included in the entry. For example, the official Christmas Number One in 2017 was Ed Sheeran's "Perfect" (albeit that such song achieved its placing as a consequence of separate versions which included Beyonce and Andrea Bocelli). In such circumstances, Ed Sheeran alone would be considered to have achieved the official Christmas number one.
Other Novelty Markets
- TV Specials: If a winner is not declared for the series in question then the outright markets will be made void.
- The betting rules for other novelty markets are often very specific and will usually be displayed on the same page as the betting market in question.

12 Cycling
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
- For "To Win A Stage" markets, if the named rider fails to start the race all bets on that rider will be void. If the named rider is involved in a dead heat for first place in any stage, this will count as a stage win.
- Head-to-heads will be settled upon the cyclist achieving the highest placing in the specified event/stage. In the event of one or both cyclists do not start the event/stage then bets will be deemed void. If both cyclists start but fail to finish a specific event/stage then bets will be deemed void. If both cyclists start a specific event/stage and only one fails to finish then the cyclist who completes the specific event/stage will be deemed the winner
- All stage betting will be settled on the results published by the official race governing body at the time of the podium presentation. This is regardless of whether the stage has been shortened due to adverse weather conditions or any other reason.

13 Darts
- In the event of a match starting but not being completed, the player progressing to the next round will be deemed the winner (or in the case of the final the player declared the winner).
- If a match is not completed for any reason then bets on 'any correct score' or 'next leg/game/set' market will be void unless the market has been unconditionally determined.
- If a match is not completed for any reason then bets on any handicap market will be void unless the market has been unconditionally determined.
- For doubles and triples involving highest checkout, most 180s and win/loss of match, each aspect of the bet must have been won outright for the bet to be deemed successful (and settled as a winning bet). For the avoidance of doubt, the bet will be deemed unsuccessful (and settled as a losing bet) if: (i) the selected player’s highest checkout is the same as his/her opponent, (ii) the selected player scores the same number of 180s as his/her opponent and/or (iii) the match is tied.
- For Darts Daily Specials, all scheduled matches must take place, otherwise all bets are void.

14 eSports General Rules

If an event involves the same two players or teams playing multiple games/maps, E.G. "Best of 3", and one or more games or maps are not played because the result of the event has already been determined, bets on such games or maps are void.

Postponements/Cancellations

Dates and start times are shown for info purposes only. Events cancelled, postponed or interrupted and not completed within 48 hours of the originally scheduled start time, bets on that event are void and stakes refunded. However, games or maps that are completed within 48 hours are settled normally even if additional games or maps that were supposed to be part of the same matchup are cancelled or further postponed.

Broadcast

Bets are settled based on the official broadcast of the game by the publisher or event organiser. Where the broadcast shows a counter of rounds won, kills, dragons, towers etc., this will generally be used to settle relevant bets. If the result of a bet is unclear from the broadcast, or if there is no broadcast, then the statistics API for the game will be used where available.

Indexed Markets

In the case of indexed or numbered markets (such as the winner of a specific round in Counter Strike: GO, or the team to score a particular numbered kill in League of Legends or DOTA2), the index determines the objective that counts. Words such as "next" in the market name are not guaranteed to be correct, as broadcasts may be delayed and we may not always advance the index precisely when an objective is scored or a round completed. All bets are therefore settled on the particular numbered round or objective specified, regardless of any other wording in the market name or its timing in relation to when the bet was placed.
If the scheduled number of rounds or maps is changed, or if markets are erroneously offered based on a different number of rounds or maps from the actually scheduled number, then bets on the winning margin (including handicap), total rounds / maps, correct scores etc. are void and stakes refunded. Map winner and matchup winner bets stand.
If any map is not played or is awarded to one player or team by walkover or default without play having commenced, all bets on that map and on the matchup as a whole are void and stakes refunded. Bets relating only to maps that are played stand. A map is deemed to have started as soon as the game clock starts or either team or player takes a game action relating to that map, including picks, bans and weapon purchases.

League of Legends

Towers - all destroyed towers count as having been destroyed by the opposing team even if the last hit was from a minion.
Inhibitors - all destroyed inhibitors count as having been destroyed by the opposing team even if the last hit was from a minion. For bets involving the number of inhibitors destroyed, each of the six inhibitors counts only once, even if it is destroyed, respawns and is destroyed again. For bets involving the next inhibitor destroyed, each destruction of an inhibitor counts separately, even where it has respawned and is being destroyed for a second or subsequent time.
For bets involving kills (inc "First Blood", which in League of Legends is synonymous with the first kill on the map), the official broadcast or game API if available is definitive in determining whether the death of a Champion counts as a kill. For example, where a Champion is killed by tower or minion damage without the involvement of an enemy Champion this may not be registered as a kill on the broadcast, in which case it does not count as a kill for bet settlement purposes.
For bets involving the next team to score a particular objective or the team to score the most of a particular objective, where a "neither" or "draw" option is offered and is the winning outcome, bets on either team are losers. Where no such selection is offered and neither team is a winner, all bets on the market are void and stakes refunded.

Surrenders

Where one team surrenders, bets stand and are settled as follows. For bets involving the map winner, the winning team is the team that did not surrender.
Bets involving dragons, barons and kills are settled based on the situation at the time the surrender takes place.
Bets involving towers and inhibitors are settled based solely on the number of towers and inhibitors destroyed by the winning team during the course of the map before surrender. No additional towers or inhibitors are deemed to have been destroyed, regardless of what would have been theoretically required to win the game normally from that position.
Towers Example: If at surrender, the winning team destroyed 4 towers (e.g., all Tier 1 and 1 Tier 2), the total is 4, with no addition of Tier 3 or Tier 4 towers, even if those would have been needed to win.

DOTA2

Towers - all destroyed towers count as having been destroyed by the opposing team even if the last hit was from a minion.
Barracks - all destroyed barracks count as having been destroyed by the opposing team even if the last hit was from a minion. The ranged and melee barracks in each pair count as separate barracks, so that each team has a total of six barracks.
Kills (other than "First Blood") - the official broadcast or game API if available is definitive in determining whether the death of a Champion counts as a kill. E.G. where a Champion is killed by tower or minion damage without the involvement of an enemy Champion this may not be registered as a kill on the broadcast, in which case it does not count as a kill for bet settlement purposes.
First Blood - The broadcast or official API score must register the kill as First Blood. Where, for example, a kill is denied by a team-mate, it may not be counted as First Blood (regardless of whether it is registered as a kill on the broadcast kill counter), in which case it will not count as First Blood for bet settlement purposes. For the avoidance of doubt, all kill markets other than "First Blood" are settled based on the kill counter, but a kill that is registered on the kill counter will count as First Blood only if is announced as such.
Roshans - the team that scores the last hit on Roshan as determined by the broadcast or game API if available is deemed to have slain Roshan, regardless of the player who picks up the aegis of the immortal.
Next team to score a particular objective or the team to score the most of a particular objective - where a "neither" or "draw" option is offered and is the winning outcome, bets on either team are losers. Where no such selection is offered and neither team is a winner, all bets on the market are void and stakes refunded

Surrenders

Where one team surrenders, bets stand and are settled as follows:
For bets involving the map winner, the winning team is the team that did not surrender.
Bets involving Roshans, barracks and kills are settled based on the situation at the time the surrender takes place.
Bets involving towers are settled based only on the towers destroyed during the course of the map before surrender. Towers that would have needed to be destroyed to win the game normally, but were not destroyed, will not be counted in the total. For example, if the winning team has destroyed all tier 1 towers and one tier 2 tower before the surrender, only those towers (four in total) will be counted, and no additional towers will be deemed destroyed

Counter Strike: GO

Most map bets are based on the scheduled number of rounds (usually best of 30) excluding extra rounds played in the event of a draw. If, however, a map winner market is offered without a "draw" selection then this is settled in favour of the overall winner of the map (inc ET if played)

15 Financial Bets
- - bets will be settled depending on whether or not the FTSE100 finishes "Up", stays the same or finishes "Down" for the relevant period. The market will be settled based on the price change of the FTSE100. The price change will be measured using the first price stamp of the period, and then the first price stamp of the close time of the period, with all price stamps being taken from Bloomberg. For periods ending at the close of the day's trading, the official closing price will be used and not the first price stamp of the period close time.
- - bets will be settled depending on the value of the UK Base Rate (the "Rate") after the next scheduled Bank of England (MPC) meeting. If a Rate change is announced before the scheduled meeting and the scheduled meeting goes ahead, Betfair will settle this market on what the Rate is immediately after the scheduled meeting. If a Rate change is announced before the scheduled meeting and the scheduled meeting is cancelled (or does not take place at the scheduled time and date), Betfair will void all bets that are matched after the time of the Rate change announcement and will settle this market on the newly announced Rate. If the Rate percentage announced is in any increment other than the standard (i.e. x.00, x.25, x.50 or x.75), Betfair will void this market (for example, 4.33% will result in the market being void).
16 Futsal
- Bets will be settled according to the result declared by the relevant governing body at the end of the match. In the absence of consistent, independent evidence or in the presence of significant conflicting evidence, bets will be settled based on our own statistics.
- All markets will be settled with the result at the end of regular time (40 minutes). The only exceptions are for matches that are played for a lesser duration (e.g. 30 minutes) as agreed by the laws of the competition in which they are competing or agreed by both sides prior to kick-off. In such cases, if the match is played in the traditional format of 2 halves, all bets will be settled at the end of the agreed game length.
- In the event of a match not taking place, bets on this match are deemed void.
- Should a match be abandoned all markets will be voided unless the outcome has been unequivocally decided.
Overview of Specific Markets (Futsal)
- Match Odds 3-way market will be settled on the result at the end of regular time including stoppage time. Overtime is excluded for settlement purposes of the 3-way Match Odds market.
- Overtime counts for settlement of Handicap and Total Goals markets.
17 GAA
- Extra time not included (unless otherwise stated). Markets settled on the 60/70 minute result.
- Any match abandoned before completion will be declared void unless an official result is declared by the governing body. All other markets will be deemed void unless their result is already determined.
- Player points. This market will be settled on the total score (Goals plus points) scored by the named player. The player must start for bets to stand.
- Average points. League/Championship This market will be settled based on the average score obtained by the named player over the course of the entire league or championship campaign (including semi-final and final). The named player must start a minimum of 3 league game for bets to stand.
- Footballer/Hurler of the Year. This market will be settled based on the results of the official All star award ceremony.
- If a match is postponed, all bets on that match will be voided unless it is rescheduled to take place within 72 hours of its originally scheduled start time. For the purpose of this rule, the scheduled start time of a match shall be that which is declared by the GAA Central Council, the individual provincial councils and/or the individual county boards which determine the applicable competition fixtures. In the event of any conflict or inconsistency between the start times declared by any of the foregoing, the order of priority shall be (in descending order): (i) the GAA Central Council then (ii) the individual provincial councils then (iii) the individual county boards.

- The name/heading of a competition amounts to evidence of what a bet refers to. For example, if you place a bet on "Norway vs Brazil" under the competition name/heading U20 World Cup, the bet will apply to the match between Norway and Brazil which is part of the U20 World Cup.

20 Hockey
- In case of a match being postponed it will be voided unless it takes place within 36 hours of the initial scheduled starting time.
- Overtime does not count unless stated otherwise.
- Should a match be abandoned all markets will be voided unless the outcome has been unequivocally decided.

21 Horseracing

21.1General

Unless stated otherwise, all individual race markets will be determined according to the official result at the time of the "weigh-in" announcement. Subsequent disqualifications, appeals or amendments to the result will be disregarded. Card numbers are posted as a guide only: bets are placed on a named horse. Information (such as jockey silks, saddlecloth numbers etc) is provided "as is" and is for guidance only. Betfair does not guarantee the accuracy of this information and use of it to place bets is entirely at your own risk.
If a race is declared void, or in the event of a walkover, all bets on that race will be void.
If a race is postponed or re-scheduled, all bets will stand providing the final declarations and the race venue remain unchanged.
If a race is abandoned or otherwise declared void, or in the event of a walkover, all bets on that race will be void.
If the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will be void.
If a scheduled surface type is changed (e.g. turf to dirt) all bets will stand.
The favourite is the selection quoted in the official starting price returns at the shortest odds. The second favourite is the horse quoted at the next shortest odds. If two horses are quoted at the same odds and these odds are shorter than those quoted against any other horses, then these two are equal first favourite and equal second favourite. If two or more co-favourites are thus selected, the stake will be divided equally between them.

21.2Future Racing

For the avoidance of doubt, Future Racing and Antepost bets refer to the same market type and either term may be used interchangeably.
All Future Racing bets are accepted and settled on a Rules of Racing basis only.
Future Racing bets are accepted at quoted prices, up to and including the day prior to the event, on the basis of all in, run or not, entered or not. Therefore selections not taking part in the race/event concerned are losers.
Future Racing bets are those placed at our quoted prices on horses and prior to the race becoming classed as ‘day of event’ (day of event is a term used to describe the time at which overnight declarations are made, usually 10am on the day preceding the race (or two days for certain Group 1 races) for horse racing and the day of the race for greyhounds).
All bets placed after the overnight declaration stage are settled in accordance with our early prices/day of race rules.
In line with principals laid down by Tattersalls Rules of Racing, Future Racing bets will be void under the following circumstances, otherwise bets stand:

If the race is abandoned or declared void.
If the venue of the race is altered or postponed to a later date at a different track.
If the race is postponed to a later date at the same track with entries totally reopened bets placed after the initial entries are void, but bets placed prior to the initial entry stage will stand. All bets will stand if a race is postponed to later date at the same track with the same entries, whether the bet was placed before or after the initial entries stage.
If the horse is balloted out or eliminated under Jockey Club rules single bets will be void. In any such cases, accumulative Future Racing bets will stand on the remaining legs, at the prices laid on the selections in those races, with a double becoming a single, a treble becoming a double, etc.
In the event of horses being withdrawn under Jockey Club/Turf Club rules, to limit the number of entries taken part, these horses shall be void. The liability of a layer against horses remaining will be reduced on both win and place parts of such bets, in accordance with the rate to be announced before the race by Tattersalls Committee, dependant on the odds currently available against the withdrawn horses at the time of withdrawal. All bets are executed at the price ruling at the time of handing in of the bet. We reserve the right to correct any palpable error. Win doubles, trebles, etc are calculated at full accumulative odds. Each-way doubles and trebles etc. are settled win-to-win, place-to-place, and for the place part of such bets, the fractional odds pertaining at the time of acceptance. Place only bets, conditional bets and forecast bets are not accepted for Future Racing bets. When the same selection is backed to win two or more races/events in Future Racing bets, special odds are applicable. These special odds will supersede the accumulative odds calculated from the individual event prices irrespective of the fact that the individual event prices may be endorsed on the slip. If special odds were not available, the stake will be divided equally as singles at the prices available at the time the bet was placed.
Any horse that does not qualify for, or is expunged from a race, will be settled as a loser. Bets taken on a horse after they have not qualified by the applicable qualifying date will be voided.

21.3'Best Odds Guaranteed'

Best Odds Guaranteed is a promotion only available to customers whose registered address is in the UK only
Best Odds Best Odds Guaranteed is not available to customers whose country of residence is the Republic of Ireland.
"Best Odds Guaranteed" is offered on UK and Irish horse race Winner markets.
For commercial reasons, Betfair may exclude selected customers from receiving various promotions including Best Odds Guaranteed, such exclusion which shall be communicated by email or otherwise.
Best Odds Guaranteed applies, for Winner markets only (win and each way), to any price taken on singles after 8am on the day of the applicable race.
"Best Odds Guaranteed" is not available on Future Racing markets.
“Best Odds Guaranteed” is not available on multiples.
Where "Best Odds Guaranteed" is offered, bets will be settled at the Industry Starting Price ("SP") if the SP is bigger than the price taken by the customer when they place their bet. For example, if the price taken is 3/1 and the SP is 4/1, we will pay out at the bigger price of 4/1.
In the event of a Rule 4 deduction applying to a price taken, we will pay at the bigger odds after the Rule 4 deduction has been made to the price taken.
Where no SP is returned, the last price offered by Betfair fixed odds will be taken as the SP.
Best Odds Guaranteed does not apply to Oddsboosts selections

21.4Starting Prices

'˜SP bets' placed on the Betfair Sportsbook or Betfair's 'Fixed Odds' products will be settled on the official Industry Starting Price and not the 'Betfair SP'.
If no official Industry Starting Price or Industry Off Course Starting Price is returned, bets where no price is taken (including forecasts, tricasts and unnamed favourites) will be settled at the last price quoted on the Betfair Sportsbook prior to the off of the race.

21.5Double Resulting

Double result is only applicable to horse racing in Ireland and the UK where an industry SP is returned.
Double result means if your horse is first past the post you get paid, however, should your horse be awarded the race or promoted to a place, as a result of a stewards enquiry or an objection which is announced before the ‘weigh in’ or ‘winner alright’, we will still pay you.
In a combined Horses bet, the bet remains a winner if a runner in a combined horses selection is first past the post and another horse is promoted to a winner. The bet is promoted to winner if the runner in a combined horses selection is promoted to winner where the first past the post was not in the combined horses selection.
We offer Double Result on Place Betting, Betting Without Favourite, Fallers Insurance, Combined Horses & all Insurebet Markets.
Double result does not apply to the following bets or circumstances:

All Future Racing bets.
Bets which rely on Tote dividends ie. Jackpots, Placepots etc which are settled on the Rules of Racing.
Any horse disqualified for taking the wrong course or for carrying an incorrect weight.
Races which are declared void.
Where there is an official correction to the result by the judge or SIS prior to the ‘weigh in’ and any races which are declared void before the ‘weigh in’ for which Rules of Racing will apply.
All bets on horse racing outside of Ireland and the UK (which shall be settled on a Rules of Racing basis only).
All bets on horse racing within Ireland and the UK where an industry SP is not returned in respect of the applicable race (such bets shall be settled on a Rules of Racing basis only).
All bets placed on Betting in Running markets (which will be settled on a Rules of Racing basis only).

21.6Match Betting

Where we offer match betting (i.e. where we select two or more horses in a particular race to compete against each other in a match bet), all bets will be settled in accordance with the Rules of Racing of the British Horse Racing Authority which are then in force (and results will be determined according to the official returns in the following day's Racing Post).
Bets are settled on the best finishing position.
For flat racing, if two or more of the named horses do not complete the course, the placing of those horses in relation to each other shall be determined, and bets shall be settled, according to the distance travelled by each horse (according to the official returns in the following day's Racing Post).
For National Hunt races, if two or more of the named horses do not complete the course, the placing of those horses in relation to each other shall be determined, and bets shall be settled, according to the number of obstacles cleared by each horse (according to the official returns in the following day's Racing Post). If both horses clear the same number of fences/hurdles, bets will be void.

21.7Place Terms

Each-way bets (Win and Place) are offered for the majority of races. For all horse races (at Early Price and S.P) the each-way terms are affected by the type of race and the number of runners taking part and these terms are, unless indicated otherwise, as follows:

The '˜Win' and 'Place' part of each-way multiple bets are settled separately (that is, win-to-win and place-to-place).
Once opened, the number of winners in 'to be placed' markets may be affected by further non-runners.
From time to time we may offer promotions that pay out on extra placings in a horse race. In these instances we reserve the right to alter the standard place terms as set out above (e.g. we may offer to pay out 5 or 6 places in a handicap with 16 or more runners but to do so at 1/5 of the odds as opposed to standard 1/4). These promotions are not confined to handicaps. The onus is on the customer at all times to check the each way terms on offer (particularly in those races where we are offering additional place payouts).
For a horse to be deemed not to have been placed in a given race, it must have started that race.
If the number of placed horses is less than the number of potential winners, the winners will only be the placed horse or horses.
If any race is reduced to four runners or less, all each-way bets will be taken as "all-to-win" given that there are no places.

22.8 Combined Winning Distance for a Meeting

Distances for each race meeting are settled on a 'first past the post' basis. If any of the scheduled races at a meeting are not run, bets are void unless the maximum quote has been attained.
The maximum winning distance per race for a flat race is 12 lengths while a National Hunt race is 30 lengths. This also applies should only one horse complete the race.
Distances are as follows:
- Nose: 0.05
- Short-head: 0.1
- Head: 0.2
- Neck: 0.3
- Half a Length: 0.5
- 3/4 of a Length: 0.75
- 1 Length: 1
No Finishers - If there are no finishers in a race, it shall be treated as void.
Walkovers will be excluded from all markets unless created by the withdrawal of a horse after we have begun quoting a market concerning the race in question, in which case the make-ups will be as follows:

Distances: Flat 5 lengths, National Hunt 12 lengths.

22.9 Faller Insurance

Price offered is for the horse to win the race.
If the horse falls, unseats the jockey or is brought down the bet stake is returned. It does not apply to horses that Slip Up, Refuse, Run Out or get Carried Out.
In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned.
Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s R4(c) based on the Win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal, (see Tattersall’s R4 table under Horse Racing rules). E.g. Horse X priced at 4/1 in the win market and 11/4 in the "Faller Insurance" market is withdrawn then a R4 deduction of 20c based on the 4/1 Win price shall apply to the "Faller Insurance" market.
Refunded bets will be settled as soon as possible but in some cases may take up to an hour.

22.10 Favourites Index

Quotation is made on the basis that the horse which is the SP favourite is awarded 25 points if it wins, 10 points if it is second and 5 points if it is third. Points will be awarded for first 3 places irrespective of Each Way terms.
If there are joint or co-favourites in a race, the horse with the lowest race card number is considered, for the purposes of the bet, to be the favourite.
If the returned favourite (as published in the following day's tabloid edition of the Racing Post) has not come under starter's orders then, for the purposes of the bet if its price at the time of withdrawal is:
- Equal to or greater than 5/1, 5 points will be awarded.
- Less than 5/1 but greater than evens, 10 points will be awarded.
- Evens or less, 15 points will be awarded.
No Finishers - If there are no finishers in a race, it shall be treated as void
Walkovers will be excluded from all markets unless created by the withdrawal of a horse after we have begun quoting a market concerning the race in question, in which case the make-ups will be as follows:

Favourite: 20 points

If the returned favourite dead-heats for one of the places then it will be awarded the average points of the two places involved.

For example, a dead-heat for first would be awarded the average of 25 + 10 points = 17.5 points
A dead-heat for second would be awarded the average of 10 + 5 points = 7.5 points
A dead-heat for third would be awarded the average of 5 + 0 points = 2.5 points

22.11 Winning Distance/How Far Will It Win By

Betting on the winning distance will be on races only as displayed.
The winning distance will be that margin, as officially announced between the winning horse and the second.
All winning distance bets are settled on a first past the post basis only, i.e. double result does not apply.
In the event of a withdrawal resulting in a Rule 4 of 10c or greater in a race where we offer distance betting the full Rule 4 amount will be applied to the Overs.
In the event of a selection being withdrawn the not to win price of the favourite will be subject to a reverse rule 4. eg 8/1 shot withdrawn, favourite 1/1 not to win. Reverse rule 4 of 10c applies. Fav not to win settled at 11/10.
We will pay double result in accordance with our rules on Distance Specials.
Where there is only one finisher in a race:
- Where a distance special selection is the only finisher in a race, the over on the distance special will be settled as the winner and all other selections in the market will be settled as losers.
- If there is only one finisher in the race and it is not the distance special selection, all distance bets on that selection will be settled as losers.
- 3-way distance betting markets where no individual selections are named: When there is only one finisher, the over on this market will be settled as a winner and the under and middle options in this market will be settled as losers.

21.12 Lengthen Your Odds

Bets will be settled on the official distance between the named selection & the horse that finishes 2nd.
In the event of a horse being withdrawn, not under starter’s orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall’s Rule 4(c) based on the win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal, (see Tattersall’s Rule 4 table above).
Double Result concession does not apply to this market.

21.13 Betfair Non-Runner Rule

If a horse comes under Starter's Orders but refuses to race, the bet will be a loser.
With the exception of Future Racing bets as described above, in all horse races where a runner is withdrawn, or adjudged not to have started - and therefore been declared a Non-Runner by the starter - stakes on that selection will be refunded.
Bets on the remaining runners in that race, where a price has been taken, may be subject to a deduction. This is based on Tattersalls Rule 4(c) (see below) and is dependent on the withdrawn horse's price at the time it was withdrawn.
Bets on horses in reformed markets that subsequently have one or more withdrawn horses may also have a deduction applied based on the prices of any withdrawn horse(s) at the time of the withdrawal(s).
In the event that there is insufficient time to form a new market on the race, bets placed at starting price may also be subject to a deduction based on Tattersalls Rule 4(c).
For bets where a price is taken, the application of Rule 4(c) will be determined by the last Betfair price available at the time the relevant horse is withdrawn.

Deductions in the pound will be applied based on the odds of any withdrawn horse as follows:

If there are two or more withdrawals in one event, the deduction will not exceed 90p. If the price of a withdrawn selection is not quoted in the above table, then Rule 4(c) will be applied at the next highest price quoted. For example 21/5 would be classed in the 9/2 bracket for Rule 4 purposes.
Reserves: In races with reserves, reserves will generally be priced up within the market. However if any bets are taken prior to a reserve horse being declared to run and where the reserve was not priced up at the time the bet was placed, then any such bets will be settled on the result 'without the reserve runner(s)'. Each way bets settled on the result "without the reserve runner(s)" will be based on the number of runners, excluding reserves, that start the race. In races where reserves are priced but do not run, Betfair may make a Rule 4 deduction in accordance with the above Betfair Non-Runner Rule.
Incorrect withdrawals: If a horse is removed from a market but subsequently takes part in the race, then all bets on that selection will be made void and stakes refunded at the point that the selection was removed from the market. At the point that the horse is re-instated in the market, all original bets will be replaced subject to customers having available funds in their account. If a customer does not have available funds within their account at the time of re-instatement, the voided bet will not be replaced.

21.14Betting Without the Favourite

For the purposes of this bet, the "Without" selection(s) will be the shortest price horse(s) as determined by Betfair early prices at the time the market is created.
For settlement purposes the "Without" selection's finishing position will be ignored.
Any each-way terms advertised are settled on the actual number of runners who take part in the race, excluding the 'without' selection.
Each-Way terms are specified in race.
In the event of non-runners and withdrawals winning bets are subject to Rule 4 deductions.

21.15Place only markets

"Place only" bets will be settled as follows:

The number of places paid will be made clear on the market
Bets will be settled on the official result only
If there are non-runners in the race, then provided there are more runners in the race than the number of places being paid out on the market, then all bets on the remaining runners will stand subject to the deductions below. All bets on non-runners (not under starter's orders) will be voided.
If, due to non-runners, the number of runners is the same as or less than the number of places being paid out on the market, then all bets on the market will be voided.
If there are non-runners on the market, then the best on the remaining runners will be settled based on the deductions table below.
Deductions are accumulative and so will increase if there is more than one non-runner, but are capped at 95p in the £.

21.16Insurebet 2 places

Where "Insurebet 2 places" markets are offered:

The Price offered is for the horse to win the race. If the horse finishes second, the bet stake is returned.
In the event of a horse being withdrawn, other than where it is withdrawn under starter's orders, stakes on that selection will be returned. Bets for the remaining horses in the race will be subject to a deduction in accordance with Tattersall's Rule 4(c) based on the win price of the withdrawn horse(s) at the time of withdrawal (see the Tattersall's Rule 4 table which appears in the "Betfair Non-Runner Rule" section above). For example, if a horse (which is priced at 4/1 in the win market and 11/4 in the "Insurebet 2 Places" market) is withdrawn, then a Rule 4 deduction of 20% (based on the 4/1 win price) shall apply to the "Insurebet 2 Places" market.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event of a race being reduced to 4 runners or fewer, all bets shall be void.
Normal dead-heat rules apply.
Double Result concessions do apply to this market.

21.17Forecast Betting

A "straight forecast" is a bet where you name two selections to come 1st and 2nd in the correct order for a specified event.
A "reversed forecast" is when you name two selections to finish 1st and 2nd in any order for a specific event.
A "combination forecast" is when you choose three or more selections in an event, with any of these to finish 1st and 2nd in the race.
Straight, reversed and combination forecasts are available on horse races provided 3 or more entries run in any one race.
Forecast bets are settled in accordance with the industry Forecast Dividend, except where stated below:
If a Straight Forecast is accepted for a race where no dividend declared, the bet will be settled as a win single on the first selection stated.
If you select a Non-Runner in a Forecast bet, the bet will be void. If you select a Non-Runner in a Combination Forecast, all bets featuring the non-runner will be void.
Customers are not allowed to include 'unnamed favourite' in forecast bets.

21.18Tricast Betting

A tricast is a bet where you name the selections to finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the correct order for a specified race. All tricast bets are settled in accordance with the appropriate industry dividend except where stated below.
Horseracing Tricast bets are accepted on all races for which a computer tricast dividend is declared.
If a tricast bet is accepted where less than 4 runners take part in the race, it will be settled as a Straight Forecast on the selections nominated to finish 1st and 2nd, with the selection nominated to finish 3rd ignored.
If a Tricast has been accepted for a race where no dividend is declared, it will be settled as a Straight Forecast on the selections nominated to finish 1st and 2nd. The 3rd is ignored for settlement purposes. If the bet is a Combination Tricast, every Tricast within that Combination will be settled as a Straight Forecast with the 3rd selection ignored for settlement purposes.
If one non-runner is selected, the tricast will be settled as a Straight Forecast on the remaining 2 selections in the order they were selected, combination bets follow the same rules with each combination settled on its own merit. If two non-runners are selected, the tricast will be void.
If fewer than 3 runners finish a race, the following rules will apply in addition to the above rules:

When only 2 runners finish a race, all tricast bets which have correctly selected the 1st and 2nd placed finishers will be settled as a Straight Forecast. All other tricast bets will be deemed losers
When only 1 runner finishes a race, all tricast bets which have correctly selected the 1st placed finisher will be settled as a SP single on that selection. All other tricast bets will be deemed losers.

If a tricast bet is accepted on a race from a territory where no official Industry Tricast has been declared the dividend will be calculated from the last Betfair prices prior to the start of the race.
Should customer's select an unnamed favourite in a tricast bet, the selection will be deemed a NR and the bet settled on the remaining selections in the order selected. Combination tricast bets follow the same rule with each combination settled on its own merit.

21.19Fixed Odds Forecasts and Tricasts

Should there be any non-runners in a race, bets will be settled at Industry Dividends.
Should any selection included within a fixed odds forecast or fixed odds tricast bet be a non-runner, the entire forecast or tricast bet in question will be void.

21.20US Racing

On certain US race meetings, Betfair Sportsbook offer fixed odds betting on US racing. Customers may take the fixed odds price or the SP on these events. In the event of bets being accepted at SP, when no official Industry Starting Price has been declared, all bets will be settled at the last Betfair price prior to the off.
On other US meetings, where no fixed odds betting is offered on US racing, all bets placed at SP will be settled to the US pari-mutual dividends. Please note that all declared dividends are quoted to $2 which means that the actual return to a £1 stake is half of the declared dividend.
Bets placed at the US paris-mutual odds, will be settled at the odds declared by the US host track. Only bet types that have dividends declared by the host track will stand, any bets not covered by a dividend at the host track will be void.
In the event of a race being declared a No-Contest by the host track, all bets will be void.
When no fixed odds have been offered on a US race, Win bets will be settled to the win pool. Each Way bets on races with eight or more runners will be settled to the win and show pool. In races with five to seven runners inclusive, the place part of the bet will be settled to the place pool.
Exacta and Trifecta betting will be settled to the relevant dividend where no fixed odds have been offered.
Coupled horses in the US are coupled across all markets, not just in the win pools. If you place a bet on a coupled runner, the bet will include all runners under the number (e.g. 1, 1a, 1b etc), If one of the entries is a non-runner, your bet will stand on the remaining coupled selection(s).
Coupled horses will not apply to US races where fixed odds have been offered as the runners will be priced separately for betting purposes.

21.21Latin American Racing

For all bets placed on Latin American races, bets placed at SP will be settled at the last priced offered by Betfair prior to the off of the race. In the event that no Fixed Odds prices are offered, bets will be settled at the last industry price prior to the off of the race.
Forecast and Tricast bets will be settled at the last shown Betfair price prior to the off of the race, when an industry dividend has not been declared.
Coupled horses will not apply to Latin American races when fixed odds betting has been offered as the runners will be priced separately for betting purposes.

21.22European Racing

All European racing (Excluding those governed by specific rules in this section) will be settled on the official result provided upon weigh in.
When Betfair offer fixed odds betting, the last price shown prior to the off will be deemed the SP price
Forecast and Tricast bets will be settled at the last shown Betfair prices prior to the off of the race when an industry dividend has not been declared.
On meetings where fixed odds prices are not offered, all bets placed at SP will be settled to the local tote dividends (coupling may apply).

21.23International Racing

All International territories excluding those detailed above will be settled on a Rules Of Racing basis. Territories offered, where an official Starting Price is returned, will be governed by our general rules.
When Betfair offer fixed odds betting, the last price shown prior to the off will be deemed the SP price.
Where an Industry/SIS SP is declared bets placed at the SP option will be settled at those odds and not at the relevant pari-mutual dividend.
When there is no Industry/SIS SP declared and no Befair fixed odds prices offered, all bets will be settled at the relevant tote dividends sourced from the local tote authority.
Forecast and Tricast bets will be settled at the last shown Betfair prices prior to the off of the race when an industry dividend has not been declared.

21.24Special Markets

Where we quote a price for two or more specified selections in a win or place multiple, settlement will revert to SP if there is a non-runner of 10/1 or less in any leg of the bet.
In the event of any non-runner(s) in any of the races from which the above have been selected we reserve the right to revert the bet to SP, unless stated below:

In Both To Finish/All To Finish markets bets will be void if any named selection is a non-runner, Rule 4 will apply if there are non-runners in the race as per the place only rule 4 table found below.
Named Selection To Win & Either To Finish 2nd will be settled as void if any of the named selections are non-runners. This market will be subject to a rule 4 deduction if there is a non-runner in the race.
Named selections to finish in that exact order will be void if any named selection is a non-runner. This market will be subject to a rule 4 deduction if there is a non-runner in the race.
Named selection to win by "X Lengths Or More" will be void if the named selection is a non-runner & subject to a rule 4 if there is a non-runner in the race.
Named selection to win by "X Lengths Or More & Y To Finish 2nd" will be void if either named selection is a non-runner & subject to a rule 4 if there is a non-runner in the race.

Jockey Specials will be void should the jockey not take part at a meeting for any reason. Should a jockey miss any of their booked rides, selections that could have been determined will be settled and all others voided. If a jockey picks up any spare rides these will not be counted towards their number of winners. If any of the jockey’s rides are non-runners the bet will revert to SP settlement, for example ‘to ride 3 winners’ from 4 rides with 1 becoming a non-runner will be settled as an SP treble should the other 3 win.
Jockey specials apply to Racing Post-declared rides only.
Unless otherwise stated, place betting specials shall be settled in accordance with the "Place Terms" sub-section of this "Horseracing" section.
In the event of non-runner(s) in the races from which a place only special has been selected our normal "Place Terms" will stand
All horse racing special markets will be settled on the basis of standard place terms and will not take into account any enhanced terms that we may be offering at the time. For example, "All SP favs to place at Cheltenham" will be settled, for each race, on the basis of our standard place terms.
Where bets are offered on the "going" of any horse racing meetings, those bets will be settled on the basis of the Racing Post's "going" description of the first race of such meeting (ignoring any references to ground conditions "in places"). For example, if the Racing Post description is "heavy (soft in places)", bets will be settled as "heavy".
Top jockey/trainer/owner markets will be settled on the basis of the official result of the applicable track. In the event of multiple winners, our dead heat rules will apply.
For special bets which have been placed on total number of winning SP favourites at named meetings, if there are joint/co favourites for any of the applicable races, the favourite for that race will, for settlement purposes, be deemed to be the horse with the lowest racecard number.
If any of the scheduled races at a meeting are not run, bets are void unless the quoted number of winners has already been reached.

22IceHockey

22.1European Ice Hockey and IIHF International Competitions
- In case of a match being postponed, it will be voided unless it takes place within 48 hours of the initial scheduled starting time.
- Bets will be settled according to the result declared by the relevant governing body at the end of the match. In the absence of consistent, independent evidence or in the presence of significant conflicting evidence, bets will be settled based on our own statistics.
- All markets will be settled with the result at the end of regular time (60 minutes) unless otherwise stated. The only exceptions are for matches that are played for a lesser duration (e.g. 30 minutes) as agreed by the laws of the competition in which they are competing or agreed by both sides prior to kick-off. In such cases, if the match is played in the traditional format of 3 periods, all bets will be settled at the end of the agreed game length.
- 2-Way Match Betting/Moneyline will be settled on result after overtime (including any subsequent shootout).
- Should a match be abandoned, all markets will be voided unless the outcome has been unequivocally decided.
- All Outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
22.2Overview of Specific Markets (European Ice Hockey and IIHF International Competitions)
- Period Markets - Settled on the exact score of the specified period. For settlement purposes the, 3rd period does not include any overtime played. Dead heat rules apply to the Highest Scoring Period market.
- Double Result - Settled on the score of the game at the end of the 1st and 3rd periods.
- Race to xth Goal - The winner will be the team to achieve the number of specified goals first. Should neither team reach the target, pre-match bets will void. Does not include Over-time or Shootout.
- All markets are subject to their respective pre-match rules for the purposes of Live Betting.
- Match Odds (3-Way): Excludes overtime and will be settled on the result declared prior to any period of overtime played.
22.3Player Props (European Ice Hockey and IIHF International Competitions)
- Overtime counts for all player proposition markets. Players must appear on the ice during play for bets to stand. Only goals scored in regulation or overtime count for settlement purposes. Shootout goals do not apply.
- Anytime/First Goalscorers - For the purpose of settlement all skaters who are dressed to play are considered runners. In the event a player does not dress for a game bets will be void. Only goals scored in regulation or overtime count for settlement purposes. Shootout goals do not apply for settlement.
- Player Total Points - All bets are settled based on player total number of goals plus assists. All totals are inclusive of overtime. If one of the players doesn't see any game time, then all bets on that market will be void.
22.4US Ice Hockey (General)
- These rules apply for NHL, AHL and any NHL sanctioned competition.
- In case of a match being postponed, it will be voided unless it takes place within 48 hours of the initial scheduled starting time.
- All settlements are based on results and statistics provided by the relevant leagues governing body (www.nhl.com).
- Games must go 55 minutes for bets to stand. In the event a game is suspended prior to the 55th minute of play bets will be void unless the result of a market has been clearly determined during the normal course of play.
- Overtime (including any subsequent shootout) counts for all markets unless stated otherwise.
- In the event of a shootout, the winning team will be credited with one goal. This counts for all markets where applicable.
- All Outright markets include playoffs where applicable.
22.5Overview of Specific Markets (US Ice Hockey)
- Money Line/Puck Line/Total Goals/Alternates - Includes overtime and any subsequent shootout for settlement purposes. In the event of the total being the exact index quoted, bets will result in a push.
- 60 Minute Markets - Where indicated 60 minute markets exclude overtime and shootout goals.
- 65 minute Markets - Inclusive of all overtime and shootout goals where applicable.
- Period Markets - Settled on the exact score of the specified period. For settlement purposes the 3rd period does not include any overtime played. Dead heat rules apply to the Highest Scoring Period market.
- Double Result - Settled on the score of the game at the end of the 1st and 3rd Periods.
- Race to xth Goal - The winner will be the team to achieve the number of specified goals first. Should neither team reach the target, pre-match bets will be void. This market includes Over-time. It does not include Shootout.
- Number of Goals/Total Goals Odd/Even - Includes overtime (and any subsequent shootout) for settlement purposes.
- Number of Home/Away Goals - This market is settled on the basis of 60 minutes play only and does not include overtime or shootouts.
- Team to Score xth Goal – The winner will be the team to score the specified goal number first. This market does not include overtime or shootouts.
- 1st team to score market - The winner will be the team to score the first goal. This market includes overtime but does not include shootouts. If the game goes to a shootout and no goal has been scored, bets on this market will be void.
- All markets are subject to their respective pre-match rules for the purposes of Live Betting.
- Match Odds (3-Way): Excludes overtime and will be settled on the result declared prior to any period of overtime played.
- Match Odds / Total Goals Double: Market excludes overtime and any subsequent shootout for settlement purposes.
22.6Player Props (US Ice Hockey)
- Overtime counts for all player proposition markets. Players must appear on the ice during play for bets to stand. Only goals scored in regulation or overtime count for settlement purposes. Shootout goals do not apply.
- Anytime/First Goalscorers - For the purpose of settlement all skaters who are dressed to play are considered runners. In the event a player does not dress for a game, bets will be void. Only goals scored in regulation or overtime count for settlement purposes. Shootout goals do not apply for settlement.
- Player Total Points - All bets are settled based on player total number of goals plus assists. All totals are inclusive of overtime. If one of the players doesn't see any game time, then all bets on that market will be void.

23Motor Racing

23.1 Formula 1
- All race bets are settled on the official FIA classification at the time of the podium presentation, with subsequent disqualifications/penalties disregarded. The race must be ran within 24 hours of the scheduled off time for bets to stand
- All drivers who complete 90% of the race laps (rounded down to the nearest whole number of laps) are deemed as classified finishers in line with the official FIA classification. However all drivers are given a ranking, and for the purpose of match and positional betting this ranking shall apply.
- The start of the race is deemed to be the signal to start the warm up lap. All drivers are in play from this point on.
- For race match/group betting the driver who finishes in the highest position is deemed the winner. Any subsequent disqualifications/penalties given after the podium presentation will be disregarded. In the event of both/all drivers failing to complete the race, match/group bets will be settled on the official Formula 1 result at the time of the podium presentation. Bets stand once drivers partake in qualifying. Non-runner no-bet deductions in line with Rule 4 (Deductions) may apply.
- Bets on the Formula One Championship and Constructors Championship will be settled in line with the official updated FIA Championship Standings immediately following the podium presentation of the final race of the season, with subsequent disqualifications/penalties disregarded. The drivers' and constructors' championship titles are awarded to the driver and constructor who score the most points over the course of the season. In the case of a dead heat for a championship place then the driver or constructor with the higher number of superior race results will be awarded the place.
- Overall Qualification Winner/Qualifying Betting: Qualifying consists of three sessions whereby the six slowest drivers from each of the first two sessions will drop out leaving the remaining drivers to compete in the third session for the top places on the grid. Qualifying betting will be settled as the fastest lap posted during this third qualifying session. If for some reason Q3 does not take place then we will settle bets if the grid is formed based on times from Q1 or Q2. All bets will be void if the grid for the main race or for Sprint Qualifying (where such format is used) is formed based on any other criteria. With respect to all bets on qualifying, either outright or match betting, the official times as recorded by the FIA will apply for the settlement of bets. Drivers must start the first phase of qualifying for bets to stand. Any subsequent penalties or demotions imposed shall be disregarded.
- Sprint Shootout: This will be settled as the fastest lap posted during the designated final shootout session. All bets will be void if the grid is formed for the Sprint Race (where such format is used) based on any other criteria. With respect to all bets on shootout the official times as recorded by the FIA will apply for the settlement of bets. Drivers must start the first phase of the shootout for bets to stand. Any subsequent penalties or demotions imposed shall be disregarded.
- Sprint Race: All race bets are settled on the official FIA classification immediately after the Sprint Race, with subsequent disqualifications/penalties disregarded. The race must be ran within 24 hours of the scheduled off time for bets to stand.
- First driver to retire is a bet on which driver will be the first to retire from the race. The bet begins with the signal to start the warm up lap. If a driver doesn't make it out on track for any part of the race the selection will be deemed void for this market. Bet settlement will be determined by which lap number a car retires on. Should more than one car retire on the same lap then Dead-Heat rules apply.
- First Car to retire. The bet begins with the signal to start the warm-up lap. Bet settlement will be determined by which lap number a car retires on. Should more than one car retire on the same lap then Dead-Heat rules apply. Drivers that don't make it out on track for any part of the race will not count towards the settlement of this market.
- One lap wonders is a bet on how many drivers will retire from the race before they complete one lap proper of the race (not the warm up lap). The bet begins with the signal to start the warm up lap.
- Not to be Classified. The bet begins with the signal to start the warm up lap. All drivers who complete 90% of the race laps (rounded down to the nearest whole number of laps) are deemed as classified finishers in line with the official FIA classification. Drivers that don't make it out on track for any part of the race will be deemed void for this market.
- For all A1 Grand Prix markets, both for the feature race and the sprint race, all bets are settled on the official A1 Grand Prix classification at the time of the podium presentation for the respective race, with subsequent disqualifications disregarded.
- Leader after the first lap: For settlement purposes the winner is deemed to be the driver leading the race as they cross the start/finish line after one classified race lap (warm-up lap not included). In the event of one lap not being fully completed all bets will be void. If the race starts under the safety car all bets will be void.
- Will there be a safety car period during the race? A Safety Car Period is defined as the need for the Safety Car to run in front of the leading car during a specified race. Should the race start under the Safety Car, then all bets concerning the Safety Car market will be settled as Yes. If the race finishes under safety car conditions but the safety car has not had time to get to the front of the leading car this market will be settled as Yes. Virtual Safety Car (VSC) periods do not count.
- Fastest in Practice Session One/Two/Three: Official lap times as recorded by the FIA will be used for settlement. At least 1 driver must record a lap time in the specified phase of practice for bets to stand. If no lap time is recorded by any driver all bets will be voided.
- In the event of a driver switching race teams during race week, or a driver not originally listed entering the field, all bets taken prior to these changes being factored into the betting will be re-settled at the correct price taking into account the team/car change. This is inclusive of all markets offered for F1and Betfair's decision is final in this regard.
- From the formation of any race market, bets are considered to be non-driver no bet. Any bets on drivers who fail to take part in the race for any reason other than non-qualification shall be deemed void (Note: The start of the race is deemed to be the signal to start the warm up lap. All drivers are in play from this point on). We reserve the right to deduct the equivalent Tattersalls' Rule 4 (c) to reflect returning stakes on non-drivers.
23.2Nascar/Indy Car/Cart Racing
- Outright race betting: The 'field' includes any driver who is not listed in the outright prices. Any drivers who fail to qualify for the race will be deemed as non-runners. The race must be ran within 24 hours of the scheduled off time for bets to stand. The official NASCAR / INDY winner of the race will be settled as the winner for betting purposes, this includes all races which are halted prematurely.
- Driver Match Ups: All match ups will be settled as per the official result. If one driver fails to complete the race, the other driver will be deemed the winner. Where both drivers fail to complete the race, the number of laps completed will determine the winner. If both drivers fail to complete on the same lap, the official placings as assigned by the controlling authority will determine the result. Both drivers must start the race for bets to stand. In the event of a replacement driver all bets are void.
23.3WRC
- All race bets are settled on the official WRC classification at the time of the podium presentation, with subsequent disqualifications disregarded.
23.4Moto GP/World Superbikes/British Superbikes
- All race bets are settled on the official classification as defined by the official race organisers and will not be affected by any subsequent demotions or enquiries. Non-runner no-bet - Rule 4 (Deductions) may apply.
- All qualifying bets are in-play once a rider starts qualifying. Riders must start qualifying for action on qualifying wagers. Subsequent penalties or demotions will not affect the grading of wagers.
- Qualifying head to head bets. Both riders must take part in qualifying and at least one of them must complete a qualifying lap for bets to stand.
- Race head to head bets. Both riders must start for bets to stand. In the event of both riders failing to complete the race, the rider completing more laps will be deemed the winner. If both riders have completed the same number of laps, wagers will be graded as no action. Subsequent penalties or demotions will not affect the grading of wagers.
- Group Betting. The winner is the rider achieving the highest placing at the time of the podium presentation. If all riders in the group fail to be classified then the rider completing the most laps will be deemed the winner. If all riders in the group fail to be classified and two or more riders retired on the same lap then dead-heat rules apply. Riders are grouped together for betting purposes only. Non-runner no-bet deductions in line with Rule 4 (Deductions) may apply. Bets will be settled on the official race organisers result at the time of the podium presentation.
23.5Isle of Man TT
- All Isle of Man TT bets will be settled on the official Isle of Man TT classification at the time of the podium presentation for the respective race, with subsequent disqualifications disregarded.
23.6Speedway
- Individual Meeting Betting: In the event of an abandoned match all bets will be void, unless the running of the remainder of the match would not have affected the result.
- Individual Heat Winner: All four quoted riders must start the specified heat otherwise bets are void.
- Head to Head Betting: The winner shall be determined by whichever rider has gained most points after the normal heat stages of any meeting – the only exception to this will be if both riders reach the final, in which case finishing position in the final itself will decide the winner.
- Any Bonus points earned by a rider will not count towards their total and will be deducted prior to the winner being decided for settlement purposes.
- All bets stand in head to head betting so long as both riders start at least one race, otherwise bets will be void. They will also be void if a meeting is abandoned, unless the result has already been decided beyond dispute.
24Olympics & Commonwealth Games

24.1 Olympics – General Rules
- All bets are settled as per result at medal/podium ceremony. In the event of a disqualification, the medal/podium ceremony will count as the final result and determine settlement of bets. For the Olympic Games all events will be settled on the official IOC results at the time of the medal/podium ceremony only.
- Unless otherwise stated in the market or the rules below; all bets will be settled according to the Rules for the relevant sport and/or the relevant Sports Betting Rules
- The Dead Heat Rule may apply to Olympics markets.
- All Medal markets (including, but not limited to Gold Medal markets, To Win a Medal markets, Country Totals, and Most Medal markets) offered for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021) are all in markets. Bets for these markets will stand should a country/its athletes abandon the 2020 Games after the commencement of the Games.
24.2 Olympics – Postponements and Cancellations
- If a match or bout is postponed, bets will stand as long as it takes place within 48 hours of the initial scheduled time. If the match or bout takes place after this period, bets will be voided.
- The above 48-hour match voiding rule will not apply to outright medal markets.
- The 48-hour match voiding rule will not apply to tennis, soccer (football) and surfing. Specific sporting rules and terms will apply as per normal to the above mentioned matches of these sports.
- Should the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (held in 2021) not occur at all in 2021, all outright medal markets will be void.
24.3 Commonwealth Games – General Rules
- All bets are settled as per result at medal/podium ceremony. In the event of a disqualification, the medal/podium ceremony will count as the final result and determine settlement of bets. For the Commonwealth Games all events will be settled on the official CGF results at the time of the medal/podium ceremony only.
- Unless otherwise stated in the market or the rules below; all bets will be settled according to the Rules for the relevant sport and/or the relevant Sports Betting Rules
- The Dead Heat Rule may apply to Commonwealth Games markets.
- All Medal markets (including, but not limited to Gold Medal markets, To Win a Medal markets, Country Totals, and Most Medal markets) offered for the 2022 Commonwealth Games are all in markets. Bets for these markets will stand should a country/its athletes abandon the 2022 Commonwealth Games after the commencement of the Games.
24.4 Commonwealth Games – Postponements and Cancellations
- If a match or bout is postponed, bets will stand as long as it takes place within 48 hours of the initial scheduled time. If the match or bout takes place after this period, bets will be voided.

25 Pickleball
- In the event that a match starts but is not completed, the player who progresses to the next round (or is declared the winner in a final) will be considered the winner in match betting markets only. The opposing player will be settled as a loser. Note that other markets, such as "set winner" markets, will be voided unless the market result has been unconditionally determined.
- Bets are declared void if a stated player is replaced. This rule applies to any of the four players in a doubles match.
- Official score sheets will be used for the settlement of all bets. In cases where the official score sheet is found to be clearly incorrect, Flutter reserves the right to use its own recorded statistics for settlement purposes.
- Players who are awarded at the podium will be declared the event winners for settlement purposes. Any subsequent disqualifications will not overturn the original settlement.
26 Politics

General Rules
- Political markets are all in, run or not. Candidates who withdraw from standing for posts will be settled as losers.
- Results of elections are settled on the official declared result, later legal challenges do not count for settlement purposes.
Leadership Elections
- When betting is offered on Next Party Leaders/Next Prime Minister/ Next President or similar, odds are offered on the basis of "all in, run or not" unless otherwise stated. No stakes will be refunded for reasons of ineligibility, failure to stand, withdrawal, or any other eventuality.
- "Temporary" or "caretaker" leaders installed in advance of any scheduled leadership contest or official selection process will not count. The winner of any such election or process will count as the "Next Leader", irrespective.

27 Rowing
- If a crew or individual starts a race but does not complete it then they will be deemed a loser providing at least one other crew or individual completes the race. If no crew or individual completes a race then all bets will be void.
- If a regatta is cancelled for any reason, all bets will be void, except those on markets which have been unconditionally determined.
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).

28 Rugby Union and Rugby League

28.1 Rugby Union Rules
- Unless otherwise stated, all rugby union bets are settled on 80 minutes’ play.
- For Rugby 7s tournaments, all bets are settled on the result at the end of Normal/Regular Time (except halftime, first half, overtime and penalty shootout markets).
- If a match is postponed, bets will stand until 48 hours from the original kick off time, after which time they will be void.
- If the scheduled venue is changed after a bet is placed, all bets will stand provided the match is not postponed by more than 48 hours from the original kick off time.
- Any multiple bet reduced by an abandoned, postponed or re-arranged match will stand on the remaining selections.
- If a match starts but is abandoned before its completion, all bets will be void unless an official result is declared by the applicable governing body. Where an official result has been declared by the official governing body, that official result will govern match and handicap market settlement but all other markets will be void unless their result has already been determined at the point of abandonment (i.e. at the point of abandonment, it would not have been possible for the outcome of the bet to change had the match continued to its natural conclusion). By way of example, if 37 points have been scored at the time a match is abandoned: (i) a bet placed on 35 points or more to be scored would be settled as a winning bet, (ii) a bet placed on 30-35 points to be scored would be settled as a losing bet and (iii) a bet placed on 40-45 points to be scored would be void. In such circumstances, bets on last tryscorer / team to score last / team to score last try / last scoring play would all be void.
- Outright Bets: all bets placed on outright markets will be settled on official tournament results. For betting purposes, any team which has points deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be deemed a starter. If, at the time a deduction of points is announced, the loss of points means that only one eventuality can occur then all bets on that competitor are void and monies will be returned. Any bets placed after a points deduction may have prices adjusted accordingly.
- All outright markets which state "Regular Season" (or similar) are deemed to mean the official standings of teams after all matches of the predetermined season are played and before any playoff matches have commenced.
- Tournament Tries/Points: Bets will apply to all playing time, including any extra time in any match where an official result is declared.
- To Miss Top 2 / Top 4 / Top 8: For betting purposes, any team which has points deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be deemed a starter. If, at the time a deduction of points is announced, the loss of points means that only one eventuality can occur, then all bets on that competitor are void.
- Tryscorers: All bets will be refunded if they were placed on players not included the official match day 22 or 23 (depending on the competition). If a substitute is not on the field before the first try is scored then bets on that player will be void in the ˜First Tryscorer, ˜First Team Tryscorer and ˜First Tryscorer Insurebet markets. If a substitute comes on at any stage during the game, they will be considered ˜All In for all other tryscorer markets. If they do not take any part in the game, they will be void in all tryscorer markets.All bets placed in this market on the selection ‘No Tryscorer’ should be win only. If any Each Way bets are placed on this selection, all place parts of the bet will be made VOID.
- First/Last/Xth Try Scorer: In the event of a penalty try being scored, we will pay out on the penalty try option if we have offered it as a selection (whether in first try scorer, last try scorer or Xth try scorer markets). If the penalty try option is not offered then we will: (i) (for first try scorer markets), pay out on the basis of the second try where the first try is in fact a penalty try and (ii) (for last try scorer markets), pay out on the basis of the penultimate try where the last try is in fact a penalty try. For ‘Xth try scorer’ markets, if the penalty try option is not offered, we will void any bets placed on the Xth try to be scored by a particular player if that try is in fact a penalty try.
- First 2nd Half Tryscorer: Bets placed on substitutes will be void if the first 2nd half try is scored before they come on.
- First Tryscorer Insurebet: If the player fails to score the first try but does score a try in the match then the bet stake will be returned. If a substitute is not on the field before the first try is scored then bets on that player will be void.
- Position to Score First Try: In the event of a penalty try being the first try scored, we will pay out on the position of the next tryscorer for "Position to Score First Try" markets. For ˜"Position to score xth Try" markets, in the event of a penalty try, we will pay out on the position which scores the next try (e.g. if the first try scored in a match is a penalty try and the second try is scored by a forward, then a ˜"forward" will be deemed to have scored both the first and second tries). If there is no try scored after the penalty try then this market will be void.
- To win in Extra Time: If there is no winner following extra time, dead heat rules will apply to bets on this market.
- Tryscorer Matchbets / Kicker Matchbets / To Score the Most Points Matchbets: Both players must be in the starting 15 for bets to stand. If there is no "Tie" or "Draw" selection offered and the result is a tie then all bets will be void.
- Best Kicking Percentage Matchbets / Kicker Matchbets / To Score the Most Points Matchbets: Bets will be void if both players do not attempt at least 1 placed kick at goal.
- Player Total Points / Perfect Kicking record: Bets will be void if the selected player does not attempt at least 1 placed kick at goal.
- Top Tryscorer / Top Team Tryscorer / Top Points Scorer: dead heat rules apply.
- Regular Season Team Matchbets: dead heat rules apply.
- Head to Head: This market will settled based on the outcome of extra time. In the result of a draw where no extra time is played, this market will be settled according to dead heat rules.
- For Rugby World Cup Man of the Match markets, the market will be settled based on the official 'Man of the Match' as determined by the Rugby World Cup official site. If the Rugby World Cup official site fails to declare an official Man of the Match for any reason, all bets will be void.
- To ‘Make the Lions Squad’ markets will be settled based on the initial squad announcement regardless of whether or not the Tour is then postponed for any reason. Any subsequent call-ups after the initial squad announcement will not apply towards settlement of this market. For the 2021 tour only, if an initial squad is not announced in 2021 for any reason, all bets will be void.
- In some tournaments, a “foul play review system" will operate. Under this system, when a yellow card is shown on-field, a, off-field bunker then reviews the incident and decide whether a yellow card is sufficient, or whether it should be upgraded to a red card. If an on-field yellow card is upgraded to a red card via this review system, only the red card will count for settlement purposes. Any subsequent corrections or amendments made by a disciplinary panel at a later date will not affect settlement.
28.2 Rugby League Rules
- Except for bets placed via “Regular Time Match Odds” and “Match Handicap” markets, all bets on Super League and NRL markets will be settled on the basis of the official result (including any extra time). NRL/Super League bets placed via “Regular Time Match Odds” and “Match Handicap” markets, and any rugby league bets placed in relation competitions other than Super League or NRL, will be settled on the basis of 80 minutes’ play.
- If the result of a Super League or NRL match after extra time is a draw, then our normal dead heat rules will apply. For the avoidance of doubt, in such circumstances, all winning margin bets (including bets placed on “Dozen Winning Margins”), will be deemed unsuccessful (given that neither team will, in fact, have won the relevant match).
- All bets on NRL matches will be settled on the official declared result including any extra time, except "Match Betting", "Handicap Betting", 'Will There Be Extra Time?', 'Highest Scoring Half' and 'Half With Most Tries' markets (which will be settled on the basis of 80 minutes' play). In Handicap/Line and Totals betting where the value selected is a whole number (e.g. 6.0), and the result lands on that number, then all wagers related to that line number will be refunded, and any such bet will be deemed an excluded leg for the purpose of any applicable MultiBet, which will be recalculated excluding that leg. The same rules apply for State of Origin and any other Australian Rugby League match where extra time is played.
- If the result of an NRL match after extra time is a draw, then the Dead Heat Rule will apply to all bets where a winner has not been officially declared. All winning margin bets, including Dozen Winning Margins, will be deemed unsuccessful bets as neither team has won the match.
- If a match is postponed, bets will stand until 48 hours from the original kick off time, after which time they will be void.
- If the venue is changed from the one advertised, all bets on that match are void.
- Any multiple bet reduced by an abandoned, postponed or re-arranged match will stand on the remaining selections.
- If a match starts but is abandoned before its completion, all bets will be void unless an official result is declared by the applicable governing body. Any Team which has points deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be deemed a starter for resulting purposes. Any loss of titles after the completion of the Grand Final will be deemed null and void and all bets will stand. All outright markets which state "Regular Season" (or similar) are deemed to mean the official standings of teams after all matches of the predetermined season are played and before any playoff matches have commenced.
- NRL & Super League Wooden Spoon: This market is settled on the team which has the least wins for the season. A draw is considered as half a win. In the event of more than one team having the same number of wins, the outcome will be determined by the worst 'for and against' points total. Points deducted because of breaches of rules and regulations are excluded for resulting purposes. All In. Win Only.
- To Miss Top 2 / 4 / 8: For betting purposes, any team which has points deducted due to breaches of rules and regulations will be deemed a starter. If, at the time a deduction of points is announced, the loss of points means that only one eventuality can occur, then all bets on that competitor will be void.
- Tournament Tries/Points: Bets will apply to all playing time (including any extra time) in any match where an official result is declared.
- Tryscorers: All bets will be refunded if they were placed on players not included in the official match day 17. All players that are named in the match day 17 will be considered "All In" for all tryscorer markets (including "First Tryscorer" and "First Team Tryscorer" markets).
- First/Last Tryscorer: In the event of a penalty try being the first / last try scored, we will pay out on the penalty try option if offered. If the penalty try option is NOT offered, the player who would (in our reasonable discretion) have scored the try (i.e. had foul play not occurred) will be deemed to have scored the try for resulting purposes.
- First 2nd Half Tryscorer: If a player is included in his team's matchday 17 man squad, all bets on that player will stand regardless of whether the player is on the field for the first 2nd half try or not.
- To win in Extra Time: If there is no winner following extra time, dead heat rules will apply to bets on this market.
- Tryscorer Matchbets / Kicker Matchbets / To Score the Most Points Matchbets: Both players must be in the starting 13 for bets to stand. If there is no "Tie" or "Draw" Selection offered and the result is a tie then all bets will be void.
- Best Kicking Percentage Matchbets / Kicker Matchbets: Bets will be void if both players do not attempt at least 1 placed kick at goal.
- Player Total Points / Perfect Kicking record: Bets will be void if a player does not attempt at least 1 placed kick at goal.
- Statistics/Supercoach Markets: All bets on players not in the starting 13 will be void. All statistic bets will be paid at the completion of each round in accordance with official NRL statistics. Supercoach markets will be paid at the completion of each round in accordance with the Daily Telegraph (Australia) results.
- Top Tryscorer / Top Points Scorer: dead heat rules apply.
- Regular Season Team Matchbets: dead heat rules apply.
28.3 #Oddsonthat - Rugby Union and Rugby League Rules
- The rules in this sub-section apply specifically to the settlement of any Rugby Union or Rugby League bets which are placed via #oddsonthat ("OOT"). All other settlement rules which are included in this "Rugby Union/League Rules" section (or elsewhere on this website) will also apply to the settlement of OOT bets unless they contradict, or conflict with, those included in this sub-section (in which case, the rules in this sub-section shall take precedence).
- All OOT bets are settled on the basis of 80 minutes play unless otherwise stated. Overtime/Extra Time/Sudden Death will not count except when the phrases 'To Qualify', 'Lift The Trophy', 'Win The Tie' or similar are quoted. For all multiple OOT bets which involve one or more bets including such phrases, the remaining bets (i.e. which do not include such phrases) will be settled on the basis of 80 minutes play unless stated otherwise.
- If any player who forms part of an OOT bet does not take any part in the relevant match (or does not fulfil the conditions of the bet), then the whole OOT bet shall be voided. This will apply in all cases regardless if any/all of the remaining components win or lose.
- For any OOT bets which involve players being shown yellow or red cards (for example, total match cards), only cards awarded once the player is active in the match will count. Any cards shown before the starting whistle or after the final whistle will not count.
- For any obvious wording errors, we reserve the right to cancel any OOT bets placed on the relevant selection (and, in such circumstances, we will offer the OOT bet to be re-placed with the correct wording).
- The Maximum payout for an OOT rugby bet shall be 25,000 euro/pounds. For the avoidance of doubt, this maximum applies to all elements off your OOT bet when taken together (i.e. it does not apply separately to each element of your OOT bet).

29 Snooker and Pool
- In the event of a match starting but not being completed, the player progressing to the next round will be deemed the winner (or in the final the player declared the winner).
- If a player fails to start a tournament or match all bets on that player or individual match will be void.
- If a match is not completed for any reason then bets on 'any correct score' or 'next frame' market will be void.
- If a match is not completed for any reason, bets on any handicap market will be void unless the market has been unconditionally determined.
- First Colour Potted The first colour legally potted scoring its own value (i.e. not taken as a free ball) will be considered the winner, irrespective of whether there are any subsequent re-racks.
- Next Frame - First Player to Pot a Ball The first player potting a ball legally will be considered the winner, irrespective of whether there are any subsequent re-racks.

30 Soccer
- Unless otherwise stated, all bets on soccer markets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any added injury or stoppage time. However extra-time and penalty shoot-outs are not included. The only exceptions are for: matches that are scheduled for a duration other than the standard 90 minutes (e.g. 60, 70, 80 or 120 minutes) as agreed by the laws of the competition in which they are competing or agreed by both sides prior to kick-off. In such cases, if the match is played in the traditional format of two halves, all bets will be settled at the end of the agreed game length which includes time added on by the referee for stoppages (whether the game length is advertised by Betfair or not). If the game is played in an unusual format (e.g. 3 or 4 periods) then all half-time markets will be voided but all other markets will be settled on the basis of the score at the end of the match (including any time added on by the referee for stoppages).
- For "Extra-Time" markets, bets apply to 30 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any added injury or stoppage time. However extra-time and penalty shoot-outs are not included. In "˜Extra-Time" markets, bets apply to the result during the extra-time period only. For the purposes of this market the score shall be deemed to be 0-0 at the start of the extra-time period.
- If a match is postponed, all undetermined bets will be voided as long as the match does not start before 23:59 local time (or if Betfair believes that a match will not have started by such time) on its scheduled date.
- Fixtures that are rearranged before the scheduled kick off date will not be regarded as postponements and all bets will stand, as long as the rescheduled date is within 72 hours of the original kick off time.
- If a match starts but is later abandoned, all undetermined bets will be voided as long as the match is not played to a finish before midnight local time on its scheduled date.
- If the venue of a match is other than is indicated on our website, the bet will stand provided the match has not been switched to the opponent's ground, in which case the match will be declared void. Notwithstanding this rule, in major international tournaments (eg World Cup, European Championships), all venues will be deemed neutral. If the scheduled venue of a match is changed, including if the venue changes to a new venue in a different country, all bets will stand.
- For major tournaments (such as the World Cup), if a game is delayed beyond midnight local time, all bets will stand and be settled once the game is played, as long as the game is played to a finish within 72 hours.
- In the case of ambiguity over the official result from match officials, the outcome will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably) using information from independent sources.
- If an official fixture lists different team details to those listed on the Betfair website (for example, the team name, reserves, age group, gender, etc), then all bets matched on the affected markets will be void. In all other cases, bets will stand (including instances where a team name is listed without specifying the term 'XI' in the name).
- To the extent that a video assistant referee is consulted, the event which led to the referral will, for the purposes of these rules, be deemed to have occurred at the actual time of its occurrence (rather than the time on which the relevant referral, or decision, was made).
- Where we have settled a bet and, due to a subsequent VAR decision, it becomes apparent that such settlement was inaccurate, we reserve the right to reverse such settlement (provided that the VAR decision occurred prior to the conclusion of the match or other timeframe relating to the bet).
- Bets which are placed between the occurrence of an incident which leads to a VAR review and the related VAR decision will be deemed void unless: (i) the VAR review (and subsequent decision) did not ultimately alter the decision made by the on-field officials or (ii) the VAR review (and subsequent decision) altered the decision made by the on-field officials but did not have any material influence on the bet(s) in question. All bets which were not materially influenced by the VAR review (and subsequent decision) will stand.
- In order to eliminate any doubt, we will consider the VAR as having been used if this is understood from the referee's gestures (e.g. hand gestures or stopping the match to review the incident themselves) and/or VAR usage is confirmed by the match report issued by the official governing body who is ultimately responsible for oversight of the applicable match. In cases where it is unclear whether the VAR has been used due to missing TV coverage and/or conflicting reports, PPBF will settle the bets based on the information acquired from feed providers and generally reputable online sources (acting reasonably).
- There is a small possibility that we will inadvertently offer soccer bets in respect of which it is impossible for the outcome to occur (for example, we continue to offer bets on a player to be the first goal scorer in a match after that player has been substituted). While we have implemented systems which aim to prevent this from occurring, in the small number of circumstances where it does, we will void the bets in question (and return the relevant stakes to customers accordingly).
- The statistics provided by Offical OPTA Data will be used to determine the settlement of any bets which are placed on: (i) a given player to achieve a certain number of shots or shots on target, (ii) the total number of offsides awarded in a match or against a particular team, (iii) the total number of shots on target achieved by both sides, or either side, in a match, (iv) the total number of tackles made by either team in a match or (v) the total number of free kicks, goal kicks or throw-ins in a match.
- Offside is awarded to the plyer deemed to be in an offside position where a free kick is awarded. If two or more players are in an offside position when the pass is played, the player considered to be most active and trying to play the ball is given offside.
- With respect to “Tackles”, a tackle is defined as where a player connects with the ball in a ground challenge where he successfully takes the ball away from the player in possession.
- If a team is disqualified, thrown out or otherwise removed from a league before the relevant season has started then all bets involving that team will be made void.
- 'Shirt numbers' bets will refer to the shirt number allocated at the start of the match. 'Shirt numbers' bets will include own-goal scorers. Any player whose shirt bears no number will be allocated the number 12.
- For 'time of first goal' bets (i.e. "First Goal Odds" markets), the first half is deemed to last 45 minutes, regardless of stoppage time. Also for these markets, please note that the "0 - 10 Minutes" selection covers the first 10 minutes of the match. In other words, it runs from 0:00 until just before the clock hits 10:00. The "11 - 20 Minutes" selection runs from 10:00 until just before the clock hits 20:00. The same principle applies to each of the other selections in this market.
- For FIFA Man of the Match markets, the market will be settled based on the official '˜Man of the Match' as determined by FIFA. If FIFA fail to declare an official Man of the Match for any reason, all bets will be void.
- For domestic games live on Sky Sports the market will be settled based on who Sky give the award to during their live broadcast. If no award is made during the live broadcast the result will be settled as the player who is listed as the man of the match in the match report on skysports.com. If the result on skysports.com is different from the result of the Sky live broadcast then the markets will be settled on the result from the live broadcast. For live domestic games on BT Sports, BBC and ITV Man of the match bets will also be settled in accordance to who the broadcaster names during the programme. In the case of games on these channels, if no player is named during the programme then all bets will be voided. The player must be specifically named as the man of the match and not just simply referred to as the man of the match by one of the pundits.
- For matches that are broadcast live on Sky Sports as well as another channel, preference for settlement will be given to Sky Sports unless Betfair have specifically outlined in the naming of the market that the result will be settled on the official tournament or sponsor award.
- Likewise an official tournament or sponsor award outlined in the naming of the market take precedence over the BT, BBC, and ITV pundit's award.
- Any player who takes the field for any part of a match will be deemed as a runner for settlement purposes. Only players not in the squad or unused substitutes will be deemed non-runners.
- Anytime Score markets, If one or more of the players do not participate in the game, then they will be deemed non-runners and the original price will be reduced by the price of the said player(s), and settled according to the performance of the remaining selection(s). Players will be deemed a participant in the listed market should they enter the game at any point in 90 minutes play plus injury time
- For First/Last Goalscorer markets:
  - All bets placed on players that do not take part in the match will be void. Bets placed on players who take the pitch after the first goal is scored will be voided for First/Last Goalscorer purposes. Players will be deemed a participant for Last Goalscorer and Anytime Scorer markets should they enter the game at any point in 90 minutes play plus injury time.
  - Own goals do not count and will be ignored for settlement purposes. Effort will be made to quote all participants but that will not discount a player that is not quoted from being settled a winner. Bets will only apply to 90 minutes play plus injury time.
  - The following markets will also follow the rules applied to Anytime Scorer betting above:
    - To Score 2 or More

- For each way First Goalscorer markets:
- For '˜Tournament Hat-trick' markets, extra-time is included, however penalty shoot-outs and own goals are not included. In the event of any dispute as to who has scored any goal we will follow the decision made by the relevant governing body.
- For Scorecast markets:
  - Scorecasts are defined as First Player to Score / Correct Score Doubles.
  - Players either not taking part in the game or taking part after a goal has been scored will cause a Scorecast bet to revert to a single on the correct score market at the relevant odds offered at kick-off. Should the initial goal (or goals) be own goals then bets on the subsequent Scorer / Correct Score Double will be deemed winners. If the only goals scored in the match are own goals then bets will be settled as singles on the Correct Score market at the relevant odds offered at kick-off. Should a match be abandoned after a goal has been scored then all bets will be settled as singles on the First Goalscorer market at the relevant odds offered at kick-off.
- For Wincast markets:
  - Wincasts are defined as the correct first goalscorer AND the correct result double.
  - Should a player not have taken the field by the time the first goal has been scored then bets will be settled as singles on the Match Odds market at the relevant odds offered at kick-off.
  - Should the initial goal (or goals) be own goals then bets on the subsequent Scorer / Result Double will be deemed winners.
- For 'Top Goalscorer' markets:
  - all bets stand irrespective of whether or not the player takes any part in the relevant league, tournament or competition. If there is any dispute as to who has scored a particular goal, we will follow the decision made by the relevant governing body.
  - only the goals scored in the relevant league, tournament or competition count. For example, if a player joins a club mid-season any goals scored in a different league will not count. However goals scored for a different club in the same league will count. Own goals will not count
  - any goals scored in Play-Off matches will not count.
  - goals scored in extra-time are included, however goals scored in penalty shoot-outs are not included
- 'Mythical Match' markets:
  - "Mythical Match" bets are offered on the highest number of goals, corners or yellow cards (as applicable) achieved by, or awarded to, two teams who are playing in different matches. For example, where matches are due to occur between Team A and Team B (on the one hand) and Team C and Team D (on the other), we might offer a Mythical Match Market on whether, within those matches, Team A scores more goals, or is awarded more corners or yellow cards, than Team C (even though those teams are playing in separate matches).
  - If both teams score the same number of goals, achieve the same number of corners or are awarded the same number of yellow cards (as applicable), the draw is the winning selection.
  - The respective next fixtures of both teams will be displayed on our website.
  - If a team's next fixture is played on a different day from that displayed on our website, all Mythical Match bets involving such team will be void.
  - Each relevant team's applicable fixture must be completed and have its result upheld by the competition's official governing body (e.g. the FA Premier League or FIFA) in order for mythical match bets between those teams to stand.
  - In the case of a fixture not starting or being shortened due to external factors (e.g. unplayable conditions, security concerns, technical faults) all mythical match bets involving either of the two competing teams will be void.
  - If a match official shortens a match for any reason (e.g. foul play) all mythical match bets involving either of the two competing teams will be void.
- 'Shots on Target' markets:
  - for any bets involving a given player to achieve a number of shots on target, the final determination of Offical OPTA Data will be used to determine the number of shots on target which the relevant player achieved.
  - A shot on target is defined as any goal attempt that:
  - Shots directly hitting the frame of the goal are not counted as shots on target, unless the ball goes in and is awarded as a goal.
  - Shots blocked by another player, who is not the last-man, are not counted as shots on target.
  - all shots on target bets are settled on the basis of 90 minutes play (plus injury time) unless otherwise stated.
  - for any player shots/shots on target bets, all bets placed on players that do not take part in the match will be void. Players will be deemed a participant should they enter the game at any point in 90 minutes play plus injury time.
- Player Passes markets:
- ‘Goalkeeper Saves’ markets:
- For "Player not to score" markets, Players who are not on the field at the beginning of 90 minutes play will not be considered runners in this market and be settled as void.
- In markets which relate to the number of incidents to occur, such as 'number of corners', these will be determined on the basis of the number taken, rather than awarded. This will also apply to incidents where time is a consideration.
- "Team Multi Corner" markets are those which are offered on the number of first half team corners multiplied by the number of second half team corners.
- For markets that relate to the number of bookings given, the number of corners taken, any goalscorer or the time of a particular goal, the result will be determined by Betfair (acting reasonably) using information from independent sources. In such cases, if any new information comes into the public domain within 72 hours of settlement, then Betfair shall (acting reasonably) determine either:
- For combined shots on target markets, the bet will be void if any player named in the selection plays no part in the match, regardless of the overall outcome.
- For Over/Under Total Card markets, the maximum number of cards awarded to one player is two. Yellow Card = 1. Red Card = 1. Yellow Card + Yellow Card (Sending Off) = 2 Cards.
- For Bookings markets the following points system will be used:
- For Bookings markets, only cards shown to players on the active field of play will count towards this total. If a card is shown to a substitute who is not on the active field of play at the time of this card, it will not count towards any totals. Cards shown after the full time whistle will also not count towards any totals.
- Any bookings made during half-time will count, however bookings made after the final whistle do not count.
- For 'Shown a Card' markets, the player does not need to play the full match and bets will stand if the player plays any part in the match. Bets will be void on any player that does not play any part in the match. In any dispute over whether or not a card was shown, Betfair will settle the market when the ruling body has given its verdict. Subsequent appeals or rulings will not be considered. Cards will only count which are shown to players after they take the pitch for the first time and before they leave the pitch for the final time.
- For 'Player Carded' markets, all bets placed on players that do not take part in the match will be void. Players will be deemed a participant for Player Carded markets should they enter the game at any point in 90 minutes play plus injury time. In any dispute over whether or not a card was shown, Betfair will settle the market when the ruling body has given its verdict. Subsequent appeals or rulings will not be considered.
- For ‘Player in Each Half’ markets, you are betting on a nominated player to achieve the stated stipulation in both the first half and second half:
- If a team is relegated from a league because, at the end of a season, it has finished within the relegation positions which are relevant to that league (i.e. usually any of the bottom three league positions), bets on that team to be relegated will be settled as winning bets. If a team is otherwise disqualified, thrown out or removed from a league (i.e. in circumstances other than those where it has finished the season within the relevant relegation positions): (i) if such team is disqualified, thrown out or removed from the league before the relevant season has started, all bets on the affected market will be void (and a new market will subsequently be loaded) and (ii) if such team is disqualified, thrown out or removed from the league after the relevant season has started (or a determination is made by the applicable governing body, during the season, that the team will be thrown out or removed from the league following the season's conclusion), all bets on the affected team will be void. For the avoidance of doubt, if a points deduction is imposed on a team such that it finishes the season within the relegation places which are relevant to the applicable league, bets on that team to be relegated will be settled as winning bets.
- For 'Rock Bottom' markets, all teams must complete all their league fixtures for bets to stand. If one or more teams do not complete all their fixtures for any reason this market will be void. Any fixture that is abandoned, but an official result is awarded, will be classified as a completed fixture, and bets on this market will stand. Any subsequent amendments to league tables after all games have been completed will not affect settlement of this market.
- For Handicap Win and Handicap Bottom markets, goal difference does not count.
- For 'Top at Christmas' and '˜Bottom at Christmas' markets, the market will be settled based on league position as of 25th December regardless of games played and any postponements and/or abandonments. For 'Bottom at Christmas' markets, if a listed team is disqualified, thrown out or otherwise removed from the league prior to the 25th December, all bets will be made void on the relevant market.
- For Top Team from a particular Continent or other selection (for example Top South American, European or African Team), the market will be settled on the team that progressed furthest. Should two named teams play each other in the Final or 3rd/4th Playoff, the winner of the match will be deemed as having progressed furthest. Dead Heat rules apply if two or more teams, which have progressed furthest in a particular market, exit in the tournament at the same stage.
- For Team Scoring Most Goals, Team Conceding Most Goals, Team Shown Most Cards, Total Tournament Goals, Team Top Goalscorer, Total Tournament Hat-tricks and City With Most Goals markets, extra-time is included, however penalty shoot-outs are not included.
- For Team Shown Most Cards markets, only one card will count for a second bookable offence. If a yellow card shown is immediately followed by a red card shown the total number of cards shown will count as one. Therefore the maximum number of cards issued to any one player in a match will be two.
- For Player to Score a Goal, Player to Miss a Penalty and Player to Be Sent Off markets in respect of a particular tournament all bets will STAND irrespective of whether or not the player takes part during this tournament. Extra-time is included for such markets, however penalty shoot-outs are only included for Player to Miss a Penalty market and not for the other two. In the event of any dispute as to who has scored any goal we will follow the decision made by the relevant governing body.
- For "next goalscorer markets", "first, second, third etc goalscorer markets" or any other market relating to a particular specified goalscorer (including "player to score a goal markets), own goals will not be taken into account. Should the (next) goal be an own goal then bets on the subsequent Scorer will be deemed winners. The active goalscorer market will always be representative of the next goal to be scored in the game regardless of the previous goal being an own goal.
- For Goalscorer Match Bets markets, the market will be settled on the player who scores the most goals in their respective games out of the players listed (the listed players may or may not be playing in the same game). The "tie" will be the winning selection should both players score the same number of goals or both players not score. Both players must start (but need not finish) their respective games for bets to stand. Own goals will not count.
- For "Anytime Correct Score" markets: This market offers betting on the chosen selection being the score at any time within 90 minutes of the match plus any injury time added. Where a match is 0-0 at the end of 90 minutes plus any injury time added, all selections will be losers. Extra time does not count.
- For "˜Extra Time Correct Score" markets - this market applies to the result during the extra time period only. For the purposes of this market, the score shall be deemed 0-0 at the start of the extra time period.
- For "˜10 Minute Markets":-
  - “Goal Scored X – Y” markets are defined as betting on whether there will be a goal scored by one of the teams within the time period X – Y (inclusive) of the event’s match clock. Only goals scored within that timeframe will count for settlement.
  - “Corner Awarded X – Y” markets are defined as betting on whether there will be a corner awarded to one of the teams within the time period X – Y (inclusive) of the event’s match clock. Only corners taken within that timeframe will count for settlement.
  - “Card Shown X – Y” markets are defined as betting on whether there will be a yellow or red card shown to a player within the time period X – Y (inclusive) of the event’s match clock. Only cards shown within that timeframe will count for settlement.
- Please be aware that although the current score, time elapsed and other data provided on the Betfair site is sourced from a "live" feed provided by a third party, you should be aware that this data may be subject to a time delay and/or be inaccurate. If you rely on this data to place bets, you do so entirely at your own risk. Betfair provides this data "AS IS" with no warranty as to the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of such data and accepts no responsibility for any loss (direct or indirect) suffered by you as a result of your reliance on it.
- For all Monthly Premier League Markets:
- '˜Quickbet' markets:
- For markets where “hit the woodwork is offered”, this will be defined as where the ball hits the frame of the goal, except goals that hit the frame before going into the net. Any shot that hits the frame multiple times (e.g. bar and left post) only count as hitting the woodwork once. Hit woodwork is always collected for the attacking team (and the player, who performed the last action), even when the ball hits the frame coming from a defensive back pass.
- For '˜Exactacca' markets, all bets are for 90 minutes only, extra time and penalties will not count. If a player at any stage participates in the game they will be deemed a runner in the market. If a player does not participate, relevant selections will be void, and the bets settled at the combined price of the remaining selections.
- Assist markets:
- For Minor Premiership Markets: A minor premiership is the title given to the team which finishes a sporting competition first in the league standings after the regular season but prior to commencement of the finals.

31 Swimming
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
- Overall winner markets relate to the winner of the overall event and not for individual qualifiers or heats. If there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result. However, as a customer courtesy we may choose to settle prior to official publication of results.
32 Table Tennis
- In the event of a table tennis match not taking place or if a player is given a walkover, bets on this match are deemed void.
- In the event of a match starting but not being completed then all markets will be void unless their result has already been unequivocally decided.
- Non-runners: Stakes will be refunded on players or teams withdrawn prior to the start of an event. We reserve the right to deduct the equivalent of Tattersalls Rule 4 (c) to reflect returning stakes on non-runners.

33 Tennis

Where a player or pairing retires or is disqualified, the following actions will be taken:

Where a player or pairing retires or is disqualified in an ITF, UTR or exhibition match: all match bets (i.e. bets placed on the winner of a given match) will be voided regardless of what stage of the match the retirement occurs.
All other competitions: (i) all match bets (i.e. bets placed on the winner of a given match) will be voided if the retirement/disqualification occurs prior to the conclusion of the first set, (ii) if the retirement/disqualification occurs following the conclusion of the first set, the player or pairing progressing to the next round (or winning the tournament in the case of a final) will, for the purposes of any match bets, be deemed the winner and match bets placed on the retiring player or pairing will be voided (and stakes in respect of those bets refunded accordingly).
Other markets (i.e. other than match betting markets) for all events will be voided where a player or pairing retires or is disqualified (regardless of whether the retirement occurs during or following the first set) unless the outcome of the bet had been unequivocally determined prior to the time of the retirement/disqualification (in which case, the bet shall stand and shall be settled accordingly)
All tennis bets (including any specials) will be settled in accordance with the official website of each tournament's governing body.
In the case of any settlement disputes, Betfair's decision is final.
In the event of a change in the number of sets (or games per set) to be played, match bets (i.e. bets placed on the winner of a given match excluding, for the avoidance of doubt, any handicap bets) and "To Win First Set" bets will stand (save where the number of sets is reduced to one from a higher number of sets, in which case such bets will be voided). All bets other markets will be void. Where the format of the final set is changed (e.g. the number of games to be played in that set is changed) but the number of sets to be played remains the same, bets for match betting markets will stand.
In the event of a tennis event not taking place or if a player is given a walkover, bets on the event are deemed void (in this context, "event" refers to a single match-up between players, rather than the tournament itself).
In the event of a change to any of the following, all bets will stand:

a change in court type (indoor to outdoor or vice versa)
a change of playing surface (either before or during a match)
a change of venue
a change to the scheduling which affects the time or date of a match.

Where a player, pairing or team does not participate in a tournament (i.e. they are withdrawn prior to the start of their first match), all bets (including tournament winner, quarter or special bets) involving that player, pairing or team will be voided and stakes will be refunded accordingly. Markets may be subject to a Rule 4 deduction.
A tournament must be completed in full for all markets relating to the outcome to stand. This includes: Name The Finalists, To Reach/Not to Reach Xth Round, Big Guns, Stage of Elimination or any tournament specials. For the Stage of Elimination and Not to Reach the Final markets, a player must play at least one point during the tournament for bets to stand.
Total Games/Handicap related markets: For the purposes of such markets, a tie-break is counted as one game. Forfeited points or games will count for final settlement purposes.
Champions Tie Breaks: In some competitions, matches that reach one set all are decided by a Champions tie-break.

If a match is decided by a Champions tie-break then the Champions tie-break will be considered to be the third set.
Where, for a match involving a champions' tie break, we erroneously accept bets on the winner of a specified game in the final set, on the total number of games in such set or on handicap markets relating to such set (or similar), the bets in question will be void.
For the purpose of bets taken relating to Total Games market or Game Handicaps markets for the match, the champions tie-break will be considered to be one game.
A Champions tie-break will not count towards any 'Will there be a Tie-Break' markets and will not be treated as a tie-break for any markets involving the occurrence of a number of tie-breaks.

Game or Point related markets:

In the event of a game not being completed, all bets on the game will be void with the exception of Game to Deuce if the result has already been determined.
If the wrong player has been set as the server for any individual game (Current or Next Game) then all markets relating to the outcome of that specific game will be void, regardless of the result.

Games / Alternative Games / Exact Games Won Margin: These markets are resulted on the absolute difference in total games won by player A and total games won by player B. For example, if Player A wins 17 games and Player B wins 19 games during the match, the market will be settled based on the absolute difference (which is 2).
Aces / Double Fault related markets: the match must be completed for bets to stand on these markets, except in the case of already determined markets (e.g. first ace or first double fault), which will be settled on their result. All markets will be settled on the basis of official scoring providers or official tournament websites (and in the event of any discrepancies between data of official scoring providers and that of tournament websites, the data of official scoring providers will take precedence).
Where a handicap is attributed to an entire market (e.g. the market is titled "Set Handicap - 1.5 sets)" and there is no handicap attributed to any individual selection within that market, the relevant handicap will be applied to each first named selection. For example, if a market is titled "Set Handicap - 1.5 sets" and it's Federer vs Nadal, if the final score of the match is "Federer 3 sets, Nadal 2 sets", that selection will be settled as if it the final score had been "Federer 1.5 sets, Nadal 2 sets" (i.e. any bets on Federer will be settled as losing bets and any bets on Nadal will be settled as winning bets).
Unless otherwise stated in the name/heading of a market or selection, totals/handicaps apply to the overall match (rather than to sets or games).
In the case of penalty points or games – these will be settled in accordance with the score update for resulting purposes.
In the case of a dead heat in a head-to-head Tennis market both selections will be voided.
In a market where there are more than 2 selections and the 'draw' is not an option then normal dead heat rules apply.
End of Year Grand Slam Specials:
- All bets placed on this market are for the singles event of each Grand Slam. All bets will stand if a player does not compete, or has retired or been disqualified before or during any Grand Slam. In the case of changes to surface, format of event/tournament, event location, or time of year all bets will stand.
- All Grand Slams must be played within that respective year. If a Grand Slam is postponed or cancelled then all bets will be void, unless in the case where the result has already been predetermined.
- The Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open are deemed a Grand Slam.
End of Year Rankings Specials:
- All bets will stand if a player does not compete throughout the year. This includes retirements or disqualifications before or during any tournament. All bets will be settled in accordance with official rankings from ATP/WTA on the 31st December of each year.
Player Specials:
- Unless stated otherwise all bets placed are for the singles event of the tournament. All bets will stand if a player does not compete in related tournament(s) or throughout the year. If the player retires or is disqualified before or during any tournament all bets will stand.
- If a tournament has been postponed to the following year(s) or cancelled then all bets will be voided.
- All bets will be settled in accordance with the official ATP/WTA and ITF websites.
All settlement rules which are included in this "Tennis" section (or elsewhere on this website) will also apply to the settlement of tennis-related #Oddsonthat bets. However, notwithstanding any other such rules, the maximum payout for a single or multiple #Oddsonthat bet shall be £/€ 50,000.

How does Game Won margin work?

The Games Won margin is the line for the total games won by each player for the entire match.

How does Each Way Betting work on the Outright market?

When viewing an Outright Betting market for a Tennis Tournament you will see notation similar to following. 'Each Way terms: 2 places, 1/2 odds.'

'2 places' means when you place an each way bet it will pay on 1st and 2nd place.

The 1/2 odds refers to the odds for the place rather than the win. You can calculate this by taking the odds displayed on-site, the minus 1, then multiple by 1/2. Finally, you add the $1 back on. For example:

A player has odds of £5 to win the tournament. To calcualte place odds;

£5 - £1 = £4

£4 x 1/2 = £2

£2 + £1 = £3

The odds for the player to place, in this case, is £3.

34 Volleyball
- In case of a match being postponed it will be voided unless it takes places within 36 hours of the initial scheduled starting time.
- All markets will be settled with the final result by volleyball rules. The only exceptions are for matches that are agreed by the laws of the competition in which they are competing or agreed by both sides prior to kick-off. In such cases, all bets will be settled at the end of the agreed rules.
- In the event of a match starting but not being completed then all markets will be void, unless an official result is declared, in which case all bets will stand.
- The name/heading of a competition amounts to evidence of what a bet refers to. For example, if you place a bet on "Italy vs Brazil" under the competition name/heading U20 World Cup, the bet will apply to the match between Italy and Brazil which is part of the U20 World Cup.
35 Water Polo
- In case of a match being postponed it will be voided unless it takes place within 36 hours of the initial scheduled starting time.
- Overtime does NOT count for any markets unless otherwise stated.
- Should a match be abandoned all markets will be voided unless the outcome has been unequivocally decided.

36 Winter sports (which include all Winter Olympic Sports)
- All bets that have been identified as late in accordance to the relevant official website start times will be voided.
- Participants must pass the starting line/gate in order for bets to stand otherwise bets will be voided and stakes returned.
- Where there is a presentation ceremony, markets will be settled on the official result of the relevant governing body at the time of the ceremony, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result.
- If there is no presentation ceremony, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body, regardless of any subsequent disqualification or amendment to the result (except if an amendment is announced within 24 hours of the initial settlement of the relevant market in order to correct an error in reporting the result).
- "Outright" markets relate to the winner of the overall event and not for individual qualifiers or heats.
- For "Head-to-Head" markets, outcomes will be determined in accordance with the official result of the relevant governing body. If either or both athletes do not make the final, the winner will be deemed to be the athlete who progressed furthest by round, and if still undecided, then by time achieved in the round in which both were eliminated. All bets are void if any athlete in a match/group bet fails to compete.
- If an event is abandoned, postponed or cancelled, all bets will be void unless the event is completed at the same venue within 48 hours of the official scheduled completion date.

37 WWE
- All settlements are based on results provided by the relevant governing body: www.wwe.com
- Settlement will be in accordance with the final decision at the end of broadcast as confirmed by www.wwe.com
- Bets will be settled on the winner of the match not on the transfer of title.
- Should the match end in a no decision bets will be voided.
- We reserve the right to suspend any or all betting on a match at any time without notification.
- Should a match have a wrestler added/ removed/ replaced, so that it fundamentally alters the manner of the contest, all bets will be void.
- Individual market conditions supersede WWE rules section.
- In outright markets bets placed on ‘Superstars’ who take no part in the match will be settled as losers.

38 Virtual Sports
- In Race Betting (Speedway, Greyhound, Horse racing and all other types of racing), there is no prize amount, payouts are settled based only on the odds offered. For Forecast payouts we supply dividends based on results; there are no odds offered when placing bets.
- For example: Lets say a player places a £10 straight Forecast bet on Rider "A" and ˜Rider "B" with dividends of £10.50. If the race resulted in Rider "B" coming in first and Rider "A" coming in second, the bet will be paid out to the player at £105, (£10 x £10.50).

Football Transfer Specials
1. 1.1Player to transfer or not to transfer by set date market
  - Loan deals do count as transfers for settlement purposes.
  - If a player does not move club within a specified time window, bets placed on that player to move club will stand and will be settled as losers. In such circumstances, any bets placed on the player to stay at his or her club will be settled as winners.
  - If the player signs for a club that isn't quoted in the market, all bets placed on that player to move to a specified club will stand and will be settled as losers. Extra clubs can be added to markets by customer request.
  - Should an agreement be reached for a player to transfer to a new club on a future date, the player will, for settlement purposes, be deemed to have transferred on the date at which the agreement is completed (rather than the date on which the player transfers to his/her new club). For example, if, on 1 January, Player X signs an agreement to transfer from Club A to Club B with effect from 1 June, Player X will, for settlement purposes, be deemed to have transferred to Club B on 1 January.
  - In cases where it is unclear whether a deal has been completed before a deadline, we reserve the right to delay settlement until official confirmation has been received from governing bodies.
  - The player must be registered to the club in question before the specified time frame ends. Pre-contracts or other similar agreements that signal business to be completed at a date later than specified will not count.
  - When a player moves to a club, and is then immediately loaned out to another club, we will settle on the club that has signed the player permanently and not the loanee club.
2. 1.2Next Manager Markets (club or country):
  - Betfair will select a list of potential new managers at its discretion. Other selections will be available on request. Should a manager not listed be appointed, all bets will stand.
  - Caretaker and interim managers will not count unless they complete at least 10 competitive games and they will then be deemed the permanent manager.
  - Should a club appoint a director of football this will not count in the settlement of permanent manager markets.
  - In the event that a club changes the structure of their management team and does not call the appointed individual first team manager, Betfair Sportsbook will settle the market based on the individual who is responsible for selecting the first team.
Live Special Market Rules
1. 2.1First Goalscorer 3pm Kick Offs
  - Which player from this list will score first from the Premier League games kicking off at 3pm (Scheduled)? The result will be determined by the time on the match clock, not by the actual time. For example, if a game (Game A) actually kicks off at 15:03:00 and the first goal in that game is 15:07:01, the goal will be settled as the 5th minute. And a game (Game B) that kicks off at 15:00:00 and the first goal in that game 15:05:01, the goal is settled as the 6th minute, meaning that Game A would have the first goalscorer. Dead Heat rules apply if the first goal is scored by more than one player in the same minute of their respective games. Bets on players who take no part in the match or who come on as a substitute after the first goal is scored will be void. Own goals do not count for this market. If any of the 3pm games are postponed all bets will be void. If any of the 3pm games are abandoned before half time all bets will be void, unless the result has already been determined. All bets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any stoppage time. Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
2. 2.2Time of first goal - 3pm Kick Offs
  - In which minute will the first Premier League goal for this week's 3pm (Scheduled) kick offs be scored? For 'time of first goal' bets (i.e. "First Goal Odds" markets), the first half is deemed to last 45 minutes, regardless of stoppage time. Also for these markets, please note that the "0 - 5 Minutes" selection covers the first 5 minutes of the match. In other words, it runs from 0:00 until just before the clock hits 05:00. The "6 - 10 Minutes" selection runs from 05:00 until just before the clock hits 10:00. The same principle applies to each of the other selections in this market. If any of the 3pm games are postponed all bets will be void. If any of the 3pm games are abandoned before half time all bets will be void, unless the result has already been determined. All bets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any stoppage time. Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
3. 2.3All League or torunament games to have over 0.5/1.5/2.5 goals
  - If one or more of the matches do not go ahead, then they will be deemed non-runners and the original price will be reduced by the price of the said match(es) For example, "All League 1 Over 1.5 goals" - There are 5 matches due to play and they've all been enhanced to 1.2 (1/5) for over 1.5 goals to make an enhanced fivefold of 2.49 (just under 6/4). If one of the teams does not play, then the bet price will be reduced to 2.07. All bets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any stoppage time. Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
4. 2.4Total Goals scored in a league, multiple leagues or tournaments
  - If a match or matches are postponed following the market being published then the goal expectancy for these matches will be removed and a new total will be created. All bets placed prior to the postponement will stand, but will be settled according to the new total. For example, "Over 72.5 goals in 3pm FA Cup" - Newport C v Portsmouth is abandoned and goal expectancy for this match is 3 goals, then the line will moved from Over 72.5 goals to Over 69.5 goals. All bets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any stoppage time. Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
5. 2.5Penalty Awarded in the 3pm Kick Offs
  - Will a penalty be awarded in the week's Premier League 3pm (Scheduled) Kick Offs? If any of the 3pm games are postponed all bets will be void. If any of the 3pm games are abandoned before half time all bets will be void, unless the result has already been determined. All bets apply to 90 minutes of play according to the match officials, plus any stoppage time. Extra-time/penalty shoot-outs are not included.
6. 2.6Red card awarded in the 3pm Kick Offs
  - Will there be a red card awarded in the week's Premier League 3pm (Scheduled) Kick Offs? Will a player be shown a red card during this match? Cards will only count that are shown to players after they take the pitch for the first time and before they leave the pitch for the final time. If any of the 3pm games are postponed all bets will be void. If any of the 3pm games are abandoned before half time all bets will be void, unless the result has already been determined.
